&lt;p&gt;(a) A car drove through the puddle and splashed water on to Jenny&amp;#39;s uniform. She was sad because it had made her dirty and wet.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;(b) Jenny&amp;#39;s uniform had become dirty and wet. She was ashamed because she had to go to school with it on.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;(b) Jenny&amp;#39;s uniform was dirty and got wet. She was ashamed because she went to school with her wet / dirty uniform.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;(c)Jenny was sad because her uniform became dirty and wet. &lt;/p&gt;
