&lt;p&gt;For example,&lt;br /&gt;Pay raise or pay rise seems to be a UK-versus-US difference.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;OR are you looking for a complete sentence like&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Pay raise is used in the US and it seems like the &lt;br /&gt;corresponding word in the UK is pay rise.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Is this what you want?&lt;/p&gt;
