You can find all kinds of things on the internet. These texts seem to me to be rather full of specialized jargon. Try a search with 'handle contingencies', 'allow for contingencies', and see what you find.

WECC Policy Regarding Extreme Contingencies and Unplanned Events

Hi guys,

It's not idiomatic to say 'to prevent contingencies'.

Sat 'to be able to handle all contingencies' or perhaps 'to be prepared for all contingencies'.

I would avoid that by

A company should prepare everything before implementing a new system to prevent any contingencies.

A company should prepare everything in a particular time before new systems to be implemented into the current systems in order to prevent something that unexpected by the company.
