Hi,

When can I use the words 'find' and 'find out' or their past versions 'found' and 'found out'? I am asking htis because sometimes, it seems they could be used in place of each other.

Sorry but am I saying the same thing? Yes, more or less.

... could be used in place of each other.

... could replace each other.

... could be used interchangeably.

Going back to the main question, maybe an example would this? Sometimes there is not much difference, but here are a couple of comments.

I found the solution/answer to the problem. Rather suggests I worked on the problem and perhaps discovered the solution by myself.

I found out the solution/answer to the problem. Rather suggests that I obtained the answer from a book, or the internet, or by asking someone.
