Hi Cristal,

- nursery school -- this is not mandatory and is paid for by parents. Usually children go at the age or 3 or 4, and it's usually only a half-dy, 2 or 3 times a week.

- Primary or elementary school (How many grades does this level have and what's the usual range of age? ) -- Kindergarten is the first year of elementary/primary school. In most states, a child must be 5 years old to start kindergarten. In most places, kindergarten is also a half-day, either mornings or afternoons. Some places have full-day kindergarten. Elementay school goes up to either 5th or 6th grade. (Some private schools will start at kindergarten and go to 8th grade). You are usually about 11 when you leave 5th grade or 12 when you leave 6th.

- Junior high school / Middle school -- Junior high is usually 7th and 8th grades. Middle school is usually 6th, 7th, and 8th. You are usually about 14 when you leave middle school/junior high.

- Senior high school - usually 4 years, freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. Usually, you are about 18 when you graduate from high school.

-Preparatory school - this is simply a private high school; not all private schools are called preperatory schools.

-College or university - you graduate from college or univeristy with a bachelor's degree.

Master's degree

Doctorate or doctoral degree

Post-grad studies can apply to either post-master or post-doctoral. If it's post-doctoral, it's sometimes called a "post-doc."

Could you please, correct the following if it were the case?

In the United States the school levels are:

- nursery school or kindergarten;

- Primary or elementary school (How many grades does this level have and what's the usual range of age? );

- Junior high school (How many grades does this level have and what is the usual range of age?);

- Senior high school (How many grades does this level have and what's the usual range of age?)

-Preparatory school;

-College or university;

And concerning to the last, then we have:

- graduation;

- post-graduate degree;

- master's degree.
