By the way , can I say " I was in too great /big a hurry to get to work to properly introduce myself " instead of " I was in too much of a hurry to get to work to properly introduce myself "

Could you help me know how to use "much of a +noun " like the case we are talking about ?

Hi teachers,
What is the meaning of the following sentence ?:
I wanted to ask him about the garbage pick-up ,but I was in too much of a hurry to get to work to properly introduce myself.
Can I say "I was in such a hurry to get to work that I could not properly introduce myself." instead of "I was in too much of a hurry to get to work to properly introduce myself?
