No, as MH said "in a sense" means "if you look at from a particular perspective."

After thinking about it for 5 full minutes, I think you're saying the meaning of in a sense is "if .." which is why you put the bullet, am I right?

BUT you should use:

I was abused, in a sense.

In a sense, I was abused.

in a sense

What's the meaning of in a sense? Does it mean I wasn't really abused?
