I don't believe it's an idiom, he's just suggesting they play along with or at least listen to the jazz musician, rather than killing him.

Tow guys are talking to the jazz musician.

One is about to kill him, the other one is protesting:

"Come on, give the dude a pass.
You like the guy, how he plays.
Let's just play a little jazz."

Things getting better?

Hi,

A difficulty in the following sentence:

"You like the guy, how he plays.
Let's just play a little jazz."

I mean, can "play a little jazz" have an indiomatic meaning and if so please explain it.
