I had no trouble understanding the meaning but trying to find a quote from a dictionary proved harder that I expected. I finally found this: during the course of The &amp;quot;new era&amp;quot; is entered into &amp;quot;during the course of&amp;quot; the development of Yahwistic faith.&amp;quot; Saying &amp;quot;in developing Yahwistic faith&amp;quot; conveys the wrong meaning, it implies that the development is under human control, which of course it is not.
