I think so, too, it’s a
beautiful country.

Hi Yau, indeed there’s a legend which
says Huns and
Hungarians are related. Althought their names are very similar in
English and
other languages (Hungarian, however, is "Magyar" in my language),
there’s no real historical proof of relationship. Nevertheless, many
people look upon Hungarians as Hun descendant or relation. My firstname
is Attila which can
be known as the name of the king of Huns. As I know this name is given
only in
Hungary and perhaps in Turkey but I’m not sure about it. So, I don’t
have a clue
what the true is.

Re: What do you think about Hungary?

I remembered the first time I heard about "Hungary"'s English name, I was so silly to think it was anything related to Hungry.
When growing up, "Huns" immediately comes to my mind when talking this country. I always wondered if both are related or not.
Then Hungary became the name in a history book to illustrate the super power of Mongolian. It said their army reached as far as Hungary and my classmates "wow!" on it.

Re: What do you think about Hungary?

The previous post was sent by me but I didn't see I was logout.

Re: What do you think about Hungary?

Anonymus, I see that you indeed know a lot about what happened
in Hungary after the WW II. We were given Stalin in Jalta similar to
other
Central Eastern European countries. Thus it was no wonder that
communists, with
Soviet tanks behind them, were able to seize the power and set up
communist dictatorship in 1949. But, thank God, the red power was over
15 years ago,
whereupon Hungary became democratic country.

Re: What do you think about Hungary?

red totalitarian power, which unfortunately still remains, since Rákosi (Róth Manó), Marosán, Apró, and other "nice" fellows got the power in 1947(more or less), thanks to the "blue ballot" system ant the salami tactics.

Re: What do you think about Hungary?

I've never been, but I think it's a beautiful country. I’m glad that you enjoyed being in Budapest. I’m sorry that you have no good experience with the underground. Sometimes the system is very difficult for Budapester as well. In my opinion it’s terrible, similar to the controllers. You must have been punished in the underground but, to tell you the truth, many inhabitants of Budapest are also punished. There are a lot of conflicts between controllers and travellers. Anyway, the whole system needs reform.

Re: What do you think about Hungary?

Great music .
