Reading out loud will improve
your English skills significantly. Remember that the key to becoming
fluent in English is to speak as often as you can. It's natural that
you're not going to speak perfectly in the beginning. If you're lucky
enough to be surrounded by native English speakers, take advantage of
that and always pay attention to what they are saying.

My best suggestions to become fluent in english are to watch english tv
shows and movies (you can change the languages on dvd's, so that is
very useful), read english stories, and read english newspapers. This helps you to think in English eventually.

I had the same problem when learning Spanish; I got nervous in front of
my spanish-speaking friends, and basically refused to speak because I
freaked out. But then I realised that the only way to really learn it
is to get out of your "comfort zone", and just speak with them. I'm
sure they'll appreciate your trying to learn their language, and they
will help you out. Just don't be shy.

Re: How to Speak English Fluently?

hi i m fr india, and normally indian speak their local language

In order to understand something said in English, first you should know the meaning of the words spoken, and of course the structure of the sentence. Grammatical words, such as prepositions, certain helping verbs etc., do not carry stress. For example, " a cup of tea" is pronounced as / ı kap ıv ti:/ without interruption. I think the idea you mentioned in the mail is very commendable. I also experienced the improvement in my language power. I used to have a regular conversation session with a friend.
I do not think that people can improve language skill with the language training much as many people rely on training courses. However, the training courses can guide in many ways. Instruction is one oif the five key components of mastery. Thanks

Let me give my suggestions.
1) Very important - You should have strong willingness to learn english and of course you should have belief in your self....Every one can definetly improve english...You should never think whether i can improve...it will demoralize you.
2) Read anything in english which interests you....like some people who are interested in sports can start reading sports article.....do this regularly.
3) Talk...talk...talk.......
4) Don't to be shy....(You can not master until you come out of this)
5) Listen to english.....(TV or Radio)
I know many people initially they will start and after some time they give up....You need to be very determined...
Thanks.

Re: How to Speak English Fluently?

I too had this problem when I was in my college days. I did the following things. I hope these would help you. For nearly one year I stopped reading anything in my mother tongue. I kept on reading everything in English. Besides this I also had the opportunity of sharing everything that I had read with my friend. Thinking in English has helped me immensely. Generally, as you know it well, we tend to think in our mother tongue and try to translate that in English. Stop doing that. Instead think in English.

Re: How to Speak English Fluently?

Hello!I am a Chinese girl.Where are you from.
