Italy is full of regional dialects and pronunciations. They are very interesting for foreigners and I understand some of them, but I would never dream, even after 30 years in Italy, of trying to speak these dialects except for a moment, just for fun. Unless you are completely fluent in English and have an excellent ear, you will sound ridiculous. It's different for people in immigrant communities who have absorbed the language they hear around them, in an almost unconscious manner. They speak Cockney mixed with their own accent, but in a more spontaneous way, which may be quaint but not ridiculous. I agree with Nona that you should avoid rhyming slang!

Re: What is COCKNEY ACCENT?!

yes!

Re: What is COCKNEY ACCENT?!

hey... 1. The drop of any T that is in the middle or end of a word.
gutter = gu'er
patter = pa'er etc.
2. The drop of the H sound.
happy = appy

Oh never mind) PLEASE PLEASE don't go overboard on the slang side. The odd slang word gets mixed in but no-one walks around absolutely packing their speech out with these words, honestly. Some are used a lot, some are used a little, and many are virtually never used. You'll sound ridiculous if you keep forcing loads of these expressions in to your conversations non-stop. Real cockneys don't, so 'leave it out'.
For example: "they use the synonymy like gray hound =one pond so if you ask some one about the cost of something he will reply it cost gray hound".
