You can&amp;#39;t say one country&amp;#39;s attitude is right and anothers is wrong. You just have to respect the feelings and social &amp;#39;rules&amp;#39; of where you are. You say you find all displays of affection unpleasant, but do you really? The other day I saw an elderly couple, they must have both been in their 80s, holding hands as they walked along the street. I find that very sweet to see, not unpleasant at all. Would you have found that offensive? I guess that perhaps you would, as some cultures find any physical contact like that offensive, but to me it is a nice thing to see. I&amp;#39;m happy that they are happy and in love after a lifetime together. Anything alien may be frowned upon. Horizons often widen if people have a chance to see life in other countries and learn to appreciate foreign cultures as well. 
 It is of course polite to respect the ways of the country one is in: when in Rome, do as the Romans do! There&amp;#39;s nothing wrong with showing affection in Finland. I don&amp;#39;t think it would cross anybody&amp;#39;s mind to give such a thing serious thought.
