 Flintoff was England's top Ashes wicket-taker a wicket refers to the 3 sticks the batter stands in front of, to defend / to take a wicket means to feeat the batter , with 24 victims he defeated 24 batters , and one of just three batsman there were just 3 batters on each team who sored more than 400 in the game / for his team, he was one of the 3 on either side to score more than 400 runs. He scored a vital 73 and took late wickets defetaed batters late in the game in a thrilling two-run win his team won by a score of 2 a t Edgbaston, which brought the Ashes series level at 1-1 after England had lost the opening match the first game in a series of games
