I see it as the equivalent of "so" in sentences like You are so beautiful. Your new car is so nice. The people in this forum are so friendly. That "so" is used to emphasize an adjective, "such" is used in the samme way to emphasize a noun (also noun+adjective): They are such nice people. I felt such an idiot. He's such a geek. Hope now it's a little bit clearer Edit: btw, this thread should be moved to the vocabulary section, I think.

such a geek ? thank you

Hi all I came across this phrase and I am not sure what it really means . He's such a geek . Do you know what 'such' means in this context ? In the dictionary, it says the word 'such' could mean 'of a particular or similar type' . But what exactly does that mean in the above sentence ? Thank you very much E
