A sea lion is not a lion.

A prairie schooner is not a schooner.

A Guinea pig is not a pig.

A Super Bowl is not a bowl.
Root beer is not beer.

The commercially made root beer, however, is nothing like the homemade beverage and has no alcoholic content, although the homemade brew probably does contain a small amount. There is another popular soft drink, again with no alcoholic content, called ginger ale (or sometimes ginger beer).

Re: mug root beer in Canada

I still feel strange. This would be for a heavey sofa brough upstairs, or a refrigerator or washer dryer. If there are many things (like an entire moving truck) then more. On the other hand, if they are surly and not helpful, I won't tip at all.

Re: mug root beer in Canada

Let's suppose he carried it to third foor. Hi,
Your choice.
Did he carry your sofa upstairs?

How about the following situations:
1) $600 funiture with free delivery?
2) $600 funiture with a delivery charge?
For each of these cases, how to tip the delivery guy? Thanks a lot.

I ordered a pizza delivery with a can of mug root beer yesterday. I had expected the beer tasted like a wine or like those regular beers. But it did not. It tasted just like pepsi or cola. Any comment about this? Root beer is not really beer. It has a different taste, as you know, and it's not alcoholic.
BTW, if you order a pizza at about $23 including a .delivery fee, then how much you would like to tip the delivery guy?
