The part about "to deal with" is just fine. Perhaps your teacher finds it informal, but I don't find it any less formal than "handle." Does she think that people "make" sacrifices instead of dealing with them?

I'm so sorry Clive, I don't think your answer is wrong. :(

I wrote this sentence when I was translating an English text a few days ago. And my teacher underlined the part 'to deal with' and said it was wrong.
I didn't want to ask about that particular part of the sentence on purpose, to see if someone would recognize that part as incorrect.

No, because you need to add two capital letters.

You asked me if the sentence was correct. I said that it wasn't, and I explained the reason.

Of course not, I was only trying to find some examples for the things that I'm not sure that are correct. I found some examples but I know very well that the Internet is not a reliable source.
Why else would I ask for opinions here?

You will find examples of just about everything on the Internet.

Are you really comfortable using Google searches as your basis for deciding something is acceptable?

ok, i know that you perform in a play, but what if you google the expressions and find out that ther are several title containing that term, including a topic on this forum on how to perform a speech.

secondly, i also know that fighter for human rights doesn't sound natural and that the other terms are better, but can this one also be used ?

and the amount of women is the same as to perform a speech, if you google it you'll find examples in articles...

It's better to say someone gave a speech. You perform in a play.

It doesn't sound natural at all. Human rights advocate, or human rights activist, as you suggest, is far better.

No, say "the number of women."

But when you ask if something is correct and it has an incorrect element, it would be remiss of us to not point that out. Oddly, we expect that when people come to a forum to learn English and present their work as correct, they have taken all due care to ensure that it is correct. Silly of us, I guess.

Context IS important. Are the professor's sacrifices current or in the past? That will determine the tense of your verb.

i'd really appreciate the help, i'm from croatia and on our college there are some problems with the teachers. they give us these exams that are almost impossible to pass and i'm not sure that they actually know the answers :)

and you don't need the context to figure it out.

You would, of course, need an appropriate context in which to say this.
