I don't know from whom u here this sentence."Cost" is an irregular verb.You can look it up in your dictionary then tell your friends.

I used to make that mistake when I was three years old. costed is not correct as the past of cost. It's cost.

Any dictionary will tell you that cost is an irregular verb. Costed does not exist.

I have many friends that would say "It costed me this much" where as I would say "It cost me this much". But since I hear so many people say it, I am starting to wonder if costed is right too? If no, is there a "rule" that I can explain to them?
