BID -- two times a day
TID -- three times a day
QID -- four times a day
PRN -- when needed
Please refer to Medical Terminology books for further clarifications as needed.
Hope this helps you.

In the United States medical system:
bid= 2 times a day
tid = 3 times a day
qid= 4 times a day

They are latin abbreviations. So basically it says: 3-4 times a day, 2-3 times a day.
Hope this helps. : )

Re: tid to qid, bid to tid ?? please

well if your looking for medical definitions

Best Regards,
Raju Not true. QD and QID are 2 different things. QID - 4 times a day. QD ("quaque die" - latin) - once a day

Re: tid to qid, bid to tid ?? please

These are not English words. They are actually abbreviations
for Latin words and are used by medical professionals when giving directions.
Particularly when prescribing medication. Bid stands for bis in die which
translates to twice a day. Qid stands for quater in die which means four times
a day. Finally, tid stands for ter in die which means three times a day.
So if your doctor wrote you a prescription for a pain
medication with the directions as 1 tablet tid to
qid they would want you to take a pill 3-4 times a day. Hope this
was helpful.

Re: tid to qid, bid to tid ?? please

Hello Friend,
