I left it as is because it seems that in many cultures a level of politeness is normal which seems excessive to me here in Canada. A lot of these leave letters we get asked about would not even be written in Canada, or would be written in a very different way. I, Jocelyn a. romero, nurse II at rcb2 5th flr, would like to apologise for being absent from Feb. 20-March 31 because of a family medical problem.
I was very affected the day I got the news from my other sibling that my dearest sister was
in a very delicate condition in the intensive care unit, where she had been rushed due

Because of her unstable medical condition, I needed to stay at home to check

I am asking for your understanding regarding why I

 - 'going to my home town' or 'out of station I don't know what this means ' or 'out of town OK ' or 'Visiting my home town' or 'Visiting relatives OK' ( reason which i will mention)
other scenarios like when i am planning long leave for a holiday trip
 - going on vacation OK or going on tour OK or going on a pilgrimmage .
