Am I making sense?! Letter of motivation, once again!

Hi Everyone, I just finished my letter of motivation for a Master of Economics programme. I could sure use some more pairs of eyes to check me on my spelling and punctuation. As I'm not a native speaker, I 've also been wondering if all my sentences make sense. Please help me with your feedback on my letter before I send it tomorrow.

The objective from the application documents:

Please provide below a statement explaining why you are interested in doing this Programme, why you are suitable for it and the value of the Master of Economics Programme to your future career.

And here my statement:

As personal goal to devote my life to find new ideas and methods in order to advance economic policy decisions on an international level and to foster a better future for the community, a solid academic foundation is very important for me.

My principal incentive is the eagerness to learn more about the fast growing economies of Asian countries and the economic policies and framework provided to sustain this development. I want to acquire a bigger picture of economic contexts and learn what lies beyond Europe and the US, as studies in Germany mainly focus on these countries. Considering e.g. Chinaâs growth rate being the highest in the world with 10,7 % in 2006, it is obvious to me that contemporary economic education should not neglect the countries that are currently driving the worldâs economy.

Similar programmes are offered to me in more convenient locations, but I choose XY as it is the central hub of this dynamic region, most exposed, agile and responsive to regional and global events. I am certain that the University XY given itâs scholastic and research excellence is the fertile ground I need to grow into a capable political economist. Furthermore, I would like to study in an international environment. I want to learn and work together with students and teachers from all over the world.

Given my educational background, I am confident that I can make a significant contribution to the classes and that I will gain a strong education of eastern economics. I want to draw on my German experience to contribute to the Faculty of Business and Economics becoming the leading institution for economic education and research in Asia to my best abilities.

Apart from my academic qualifications, I also acquired more than 3 years of work experience in Project Management and Strategic Planning in various international advertising and communication agencies. In my career I learned to appreciate the skills only an academic education can provide, making me certain that I will be able to translate knowledge into action in my future development.

Without the level of education the MEcon provides, I will be at a great disadvantage in entering and developing my career as an international political consultant or economic researcher as the programme equips students with substantial analytical, scientific and leadership skills. It will enable me to present myself confidently with the backing of a MEcon from a highly reputable institution like The University XY.

More importantly, the MEcon will allow me to pursue my personal passion for economics, politics, learning and betterment.
