&lt;p&gt;But if you say :&amp;quot;yes,&lt;strong&gt; I was&amp;nbsp;asked &lt;/strong&gt;to compare and contrast&amp;quot; what you are really saying in passive voice is that your teacher asked you to do this.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;eg I was asked (by my teacher) to compare and contrast. . &amp;#39;&lt;/p&gt;
