Actually I come from poor family.I found your website and your email in my country East Timor. The purpose of my visiting you is I would like to submit my proposal to you. On the proposal I attached my Academic Transcription from the university, Technical High School Certificate, Resident Identity and my Passport. Here is my proposal, and I am sorry with my English. PROPOSAL Our country is Timor Leste. Timor Leste is a new country and very young, because we just got our independence day on 20th May 2002. Therefore this country needs many developments in many areas and departments, such as: engineering area, economically, technological, social, health, education political, tourism, agriculture etc. Throughout all departments above, this country can get its development and can grow up as well like another country. One of the important department is engineering. So I will prefer to engineering area because Engineering is the discipline and profession of applying technical and scientific knowledge and utilizing natural laws and physical resources in order to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems, and processes that realize a desired objective and meet specified criteria. “The creative application of scientific principles to design or develop structures, machines, apparatus, or manufacturing processes, or works utilizing them singly or in combination; or to construct or operate the same with full cognizance of their design; or to forecast their behavior under specific operating conditions; all as respects an intended function, economics of operation and safety to life and property.” One who practices engineering is called an engineer, and those licensed to do so may have more formal designations such as Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or Incorporated Engineer. The broad discipline of engineering encompasses a range of more specialized sub disciplines, each with a more specific emphasis on certain fields of application and particular areas of technology.Engineering is also the practical application of science and math to solve problems, and it is everywhere in the world around us. From the start to the end of each day, engineering technologies improve the ways that we communicate, work, travel, stay healthy, and entertain ourselves.Engineers are problem-solvers who want to make things work more efficiently and quickly and less expensively. From computer chips and satellites to medical devices and renewable energy technologies, engineering makes our modern life possible. In particular, electrical engineers and computer engineers have a wide range of study options and career paths that let them design, build, and manage those ideas into reality.The contribution of engineering to the country is on the design of innovative technologies to reduce poverty, promote sustainable development and address other United Nations Millennium Development Goals, in such fields as environmental protection, energy, water supply and sanitation, waste management, use of natural resources, medical care, nutrition, housing, hygiene, disaster protection, mobility, communication and climate change - a key concern of the Mondialogo Engineering Award. As a citizen of this country I need to contribute my self to develop this country with the skills and knowledge that I gained during I was in Technical High School. But the skill that I have recently is not enough and very limit, even though I am also at the second year of the university. I am coming to your presence just to ask your help and support in order for me to continue my study to the next semester because my family could not support me any more. As I told you that I come from poor family. I believe that after I graduated from university I will learn and gain more knowledge and skills. Since I was a child I have dreamt to become an engineer in civil construction area. But then I do not prove yet it because my family could not support me any more. Therefore if I could get any possibility from your agency I would like to prove it soon as possible. In conclusion I am very interest to become an engineer in one day in order for me can develop my new country. If I could get any support from you, actually I would like to transfer to Indonesian country as well. Because in my country specially in the Institute that I belong to during two years, we did not have any practicalities equipments, laboratory practicality, and library or we can say incompletely of facilities etc.My planning forward is I would like to continue my study across to Indonesian country at GADJAH MADA UNIVERSITY (UGM) in Yokyakarta as soon as possible. The reason why I chose Indonesia to seeking knowledge there, because there has complete facilities, such as: equipment tools for practicality, laboratory, library and etc. I believe that when I finish my study over Indonesia I will bring more knowledge and skills that I gained to my country. And in the same time I can contribute my self to develop this country this country. In my request I have putted amount money.
