I would definitely use the comma here. Normally, just to cause the reader to pause a second before continuing is not a very good reason to insert a comma, but I think it's a good enough reason in this case. A different, more awkward

A colon is used after a complete sentence that introduces quoted material. Note that in your wikipedia example you could place a period after boldly and the sentence would be complete. That is why a colon is used in that instance.
