I agree with TESOLGuy that the CELTA has more weight in Europe (as well as Asia) and the TEFL/TESOL is respected more in North America. But a lot of us know about the rivalry between the British and Americans on whose 'brand' of English is 'better'. I have nothing against TESOL or TEFL. I...

I'm not too sure there Pieter but I think it depends on if they have a university degree, the CELTA cert etc. Maybe someone else could help out with this question.
