Re: "much fewer" or "many fewer"?
much fewer: fewer is an adjective and is modified by much as an adverb of degree. Many is a determiner, that is, a noun modifier, and can not modify an adjective.

Re: question on "next + noun" structure
"Please go to next class" is incorrect; it should be "Please go to the next class" or "Please go to your next class." "I will see you next period" is an expression that works just like "I will see you tomorrow" or "I will see you next week". We usually use "next something" phrases without a...

Re: Words or nouns which take " a " before them.
Verbs don't take a. Nouns take a. Only nouns that refer to a single countable entity take a. I don't think there are any nouns that always take a. Countable nouns can generally take a or the or many other determiners. CJ
