The character who says "eight" (Spike) is given many strange lines with strange spellings, presumably to suggest a Chicago accent. So I think it is meant to be a phonetic version of "right". (If you say "eight" quickly and gruffly, you do get a Cagney-sidekick effect. Kind of...) MrP
