Simple present is "I read" not "I am reading," which is present continuous. I read negates to I do not read or I don't read. I am reading negates to I am not reading.

I'm afraid neither one is correct, SSK.You can say either one of these:They do not insist --> simple present tense They are not insisting --> present continuousYou can never say "They does". The word they is third person plural, but you can only use 'does' with the third person singular.
