It's not important if u have got British or American accent. The most important thing is: Do people understand you when u speak or not? If they do, then that is it.

You first must listen to the way they speak ofcourse, preferably on brittish tv shows and news.... just practice and it will come naturally once you start converting your american phrases into a brittish

To speak the British accent, try dragging out your vowels. Don't clearly pronounce your 'R's; make your 'R's sound like an ahsound. Oh, rent some movies such as: Harry Potter or Narnia: The Lion,the Witch,and the Wardrobe, to see what they sound

British English is over-rated, trust me. Some accents around Britain, England in particular are absolutely awful to listen too. Im not too keen on the American English too and to think they insult the British accent.
