I would say that 'more than one' requires a singular noun so the third sentence is incorrect (in my view).
In the first sentence 'more than one subject' is the subject of the sentence (in singular) so it should be correct.

The second is correct, since the sentence is speaking of the single quantity of years as being / not being one era. If you use the plural, then we might think someone was considering each year as a separate era!

I don't think six years count as an era. Or I don't think six years counts as an era. What I heard was the second sentence but shouldn't it be the first one since years is plural.
