Send an application letter, for a job I presume, that begins with 'To whom it may concern'? Surely you jest! [:D]

For reasons that escape me, many of our learners here on the Forum seem endlessly fascinated with the idea of writing letters that start with 'To whom it may concern'.

A search will find a great deal of discussion about this, with many people telling them again and again about how rarely and in what special and uncommon circumstances this phrase is used.

Best wishes, Clive

you read quick over it and point out the possible mistakes to me?
thanks for the help)

Dear .....,

We emailed one year ago, I put my previous emails together for you to remind you of our chat.
Further down you can read some of them. I applied for an internship and you were my contact partner.
After a discussion with .... you decided not to take students for an internship in 2006 at you company.

Today, after a year, I want to try again and apply for the position of a 2007 internship for the duration of
six weeks to three months. I'm available on semester holidays from 5. March until 13. May or 5. August until 10. Octobre.
In that time, I would come to L.A., rent a room and hopefully work at .....

I'm still very enthusiastic about it and look forward to meet ..... whom I only hear on mp3, to meet
the others in real life, to invest my knowledge and ambition in the company and to enjoy my first
internship in the USA.

In the attachment you will find a recent photo of mine and the resume.

Thank you for the time you take to read and hopefully till later.
