&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT color=#000000&gt;So, something like &lt;FONT color=#0000ff&gt;'Great strength did he use'&lt;/FONT&gt;. This kind of odd word order seems very literary or poetical.&amp;nbsp;This doesn't seem like a typical every-day English grammar exercise.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you can add other parts of speech, you could look at normal questions, eg &lt;FONT color=#0000ff&gt;Which &lt;STRONG&gt;red sweater did she buy?&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT color=#000000&gt;(As regards your thread title, this is not really an exercise that deals with indirect objects)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I think Paco is using the phrase "verbal noun" in the sense "noun derived from a verb". Thus "rescue" and "notification" qualify as "verbal nouns", because the first derives from the verb "rescue", and the second from the verb "notify". (I hope I'm not misrepresenting Paco.)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Some grammar books, on the other hand,&amp;nbsp;would restrict the use of "verbal noun"&amp;nbsp;to the verbal noun proper, the gerund, and some uses of the infinitive, e.g.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1. &lt;U&gt;Eating&lt;/U&gt; people is wrong.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Here, "eating" is a gerund: it is a noun (it serves as the subject of the sentence), but it also has verbal aspects (it can take a direct object).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Cf.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2. &lt;U&gt;The posting of&lt;/U&gt; obscenities is prohibited on English Forums (unless they're amusing).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Here, "posting" is a verbal noun proper: it is followed by a prepositional object, rather than a direct object.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;With "creation" and "rescue", you can indeed omit the article on a first mention, e.g.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3. Creation of relevant examples is sometimes very difficult.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;However, you can't always omit the article: as a rule of thumb, if "creation" refers to "creating things in general", you can usually omit it; but if it refers to a particular act of creation, it's probably better to use the article. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;In terms of frequency, the version with the definite article is very much more common than the version without.&lt;/P&gt;
