It's in blue, so it's just an alternate possibility, not a requirement that you change it. I suggested the change because the dates already make the time sequence clear. Further, the briefer terms your letter of, my letter of, etc.

Dear Sirs, In American business English, we would not say this. If "Dear Sirs" is a common way to start a business letter where you are, then it's fine. But if you are writing to your own boss, wouldn't you use his/her name?

The letter should start 'Dear Mr X' or 'Dear John'. Is John his first name or surname? We only use Mr with surnames. Well and Wish the same from you. (ungrammatical but not appropriate for a business letter anyway).
