Thank you so much ! The website helps a lot ! Hmmm ... but ... the site said that dash can be used to emphasize on a point . Can it be use on any point? Does it have to be a sentence or can it be just a phrase ?

E.g .   But we managed to get out in time - I hoped .    (acceptable?)     <-- is this emphasizing on a point? Acceptable - and indicating a pause for effect when spoken

           She just stood there, not moving - at all - not until we move . (What about this?)      <-- a phrase ? If written as: not moving at all - not until we moved, then it is fine.
I think the use of the dash to emphasize a point is better shown as: There are several things to be considered - correct spelling, correct grammar, correct usage.

And .. and ! Colon and semi-colon . Is it apporiate to use in this way :

E.g . A few excellent ideas were thought out by our committee members: Ashley with the idea on holding an open house; John with the idea on printing booklets; and Jolin with the idea on giving a presentation.

Some website said that   " ; and " cannot be used together, they have to be changed to   " , and " , so I have to change it? And according to the website you suggested, it says that a semi-colon is used to separated sentence with commas . So the above sentence without commas is not acceptable?

That sentence is fine. It could be either semi-colon or comma. I see no reason why you canot use "and" after a semi-colon.

Neung, I think this was very good work for your first writting attempt. You did have a few very minor mistakes, but you still did quite well.

One more thing to remember, is that when you're typing things on the Internet, always put 2 spaces after a sentence, instead of one, to make them easier to read. This is a very minor thing, but it does make all writing a little easier to read, (even if it's written correctly!)

Do you think the above sentence is correct? Should it be written as:
Thus it explained...than a dictionary for native English speakers would?

It's fine. It's just a somewhat literary word order.
You might perhaps put a comma after 'thus'.

Hello Ipkqi, and welcome to English forums. I have deleted unnecessary verbiage and underlined other problem areas:

When it comes to ~~talk about~~ cooperation, most people ~~seem to~~ tend to choose partners who have the same views ~~with them~~. Because they think disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning ~~as the author said~~ [Do not mention 'the author'; the question is not a part of the essay]. But in my opinion, learning or debating with those whose views contradict ours can not solely help us to find ~~out the~~ flaws in our views but also to make us think different.

~~It is true that~~ disadvantages such as stress brought out from leaning or debating with people who have contradictive views cannot be ingored ,and they do hold negative effects on individual progress.Someone who always feels stress may easily change his ~~idea~~ though there's [Do not use contractions in essays] nothing wrong in his views .Unfortunly ,~~there do exist~~ many people ~~who~~ are not confident ~~and brave~~ enough to insist their views.

But we cannot neglect the positive effects of ~~the~~ contradictive views.~~There is no doubt that~~ nobody can make sure that his views are completely correct and ~~do not need to be improved little more~~ need no improvement. In actual, people who have similar views always make the same mistakes consciously [??]. Admittedly, by a strict and comprehensive look-over which would take more time and energy ,the flaws might be found ~~out~~, but the angles from which we analyze problems would not get changed. In other words ,a wider sight needs more general angles that can only be obtained from different views, and most of time "different" means contradictive.

Furthermore, sharing views with those who disagree with us may help to prove our views. For instance ,in 1678 ,~~Physicist~~ Huygens advanced a series of theorems on discribing behaviors of light, but Poisson, another physicist, thought Huygens' theory were wrong ,and then Poisson made some experiments in order to prove his thought .But eventually Poisson's experiments proved Huygens was right adversely [??]. Suppose that Huygens did not publicize his theory so that Poisson didn't know that, maybe he would ever be suspecious of the theroy of his own.

~~From what has been discussed above, we can come to the conclusion that~~ there's no denying the fact that sometimes contradictive views can be negative,but the benefits can overweigh the disadvantages.

Please check your spelling before submitting essays. Commas and full stops have no blank space before and one blank space after.

Spiders and crabbs can look very similar and are, in fact, both classifed as arthnopods. Both a spider and a crab has two main body sections, the cephalotohroax and the abdomen. However, crabs usually have two pairs of antennae on their heads. The crabs uses this antennae as sense organes.(you have a number of other spelling mistakes)

Please help. Should has be have or is it correct? Iam not sure about the commas. Should this be these? Please point out any mistakes besides spelling.

Use the plural in both cases. 'Have' and 'these'.

Thecommas are OK.

No, it's not correct. You need capitalization and a period. I suggest the comma, too. There's also a spelling error.

I find these rules at http://www.grammarbook.com/punctuation/quotes.asp very helpful.

Rule 1	Periods and commas always go inside quotation marks, even inside single quotes.
	Examples	The sign changed from "Walk," to "Don't Walk," to "Walk" again within 30 seconds.
		She said, "Hurry up."
		She said, "He said, 'Hurry up.'"

Rule 2	The placement of question marks with quotes follows logic. If a question is in quotation marks, the question mark should be placed inside the quotation marks.
	Examples	She asked, "Will you still be my friend?"
		Do you agree with the saying, "All's fair in love and war"? Here the question is outside the quote.
	NOTE	Only one ending punctuation mark is used with quotation marks. Also, the stronger punctuation mark wins. Therefore, no period after war is used.

Rule 3	When you have a question outside quoted material AND inside quoted material, use only one question mark and place it inside the quotation mark.
	Example	Did she say, "May I go?"

Rule 4	Use single quotation marks for quotes within quotes. Note that the period goes inside all quote marks.
	Example	He said, "Danea said, 'Do not treat me that way.'"

Rule 5	Use quotation marks to set off a direct quotation only.
	Examples	"When will you be here?" he asked.
		He asked when you will be there.

Rule 6

Do not use quotation marks with quoted material that is more than three lines in length. Introduce the quotation with a colon and leave a blank line above and below the quoted material. Single space the quoted material. Some style manuals say to indent one-half inch on both the left and right margins; others say to indent only on the left margin. Quotation marks are not used.

Rule 7	When you are quoting something that has a spelling or grammar mistake or presents material in a confusing way, insert the term sic in italics and enclose it in brackets. Sic means, "This is the way the original material was."
	Example	She wrote, "I would rather die then [sic] be seen wearing the same outfit as my sister has on." Should be than, not then.
