Hello:
The letter is too long to revise word-by-word here. You make a lot of small errors, most of which you can correct by going over an English grammar and usage book. To get you started I'll give you specific suggestions on the second paragraph.

I don't understand the first part. Are you addressing someone? If so, you should put that name in the salutation and nowhere else in the letter. Here's my revision. Forgive me if I have changed your meaning, but as I said I have trouble understanding the paragraph as you have written it.

I would like an internship through the âErasmus Placementâ program for three to six months at your company. I could start as early as February 2009. Attached is a copy of my Curriculum Vitae (then touch on specific experience on your C.V. that makes you the best candidate for this internship).

To "serve" an internship is not a common expression and has unpleasant connotations: prisoners "serve" time for their crimes. The "for this reason" is unnecessary but you should include some specific experience or education in this paragraph which make you the right candidate for the internship. Good luck!

Any help "fixing" the following cover letter, would be greatly appreciated. I plan to send it to a research institute in the US which has a few internship positions available for students worldwide. In their own words, the cover letter should include a statement of my specific research interests, contact details and relevant coursework and grades received. Having discussed it briefly with some of my professors i ended up with this:

My doubts are as to:

Whether there are any grammar or syntactical errors
Should the cover letter have information on where i found their program advertisement? For example "I am writing in response to your posting for the *** Internship Program, of which I learned through an email from the *** googlegroup."?
The part "I am particularly interested in working on expanding the simulation capability currently available within *** whose âevolutionâ I have followed in the literature." in the first paragraph originally was "I would wish to be considered for the intership position on the *** project, and if possible for the part of ***, of which I read and was particularly interested in, in the paper â***â which was presented in the *** Workshop on ***." Which version do you think is better?
If i should include the sentence 'Also, it would greatly benefit me to collaborate with fellow interns and have as my mentor Mr. ***." or maybe it sounds "fake" (although it is in fact true!)
In the original version of this cover letter, the last paragraph was
"Also, it would greatly benefit me to have as my mentor Mr. ***, whose career in the *** and *** I think of very highly, and collaborate with fellow interns, as until this time, I havenât had the opportunity to work in a multi-member research group. Finally, travelling and actually staying in the United States has always been one of my dreams, being an avid traveller, but unfortunately, I havenât been able to make this trip a reality due to its excessive cost." Was i right in replacing it?
Finally, should the courses' information also refer to the teacher who instructed me (especially since one of them has cooperated in the past with the internship's project mentor), or not?

I have indicated the few outright corrections I could find in bold. Because you have chosen to present your information in sentence fragments, it is very difficult to analyze or make consistent any grammar present. If you continue to get complaints, I would suggest that you try casting it in paragraphs ( "I was a sales consultant for Oracle Bl solutions, using demonstrations, prototyping, proofs of concept and presentations prepared for both potential and existing customers. I also designed customer business needs analyses and matched them to solutions, conducted internal sales team training, and had some involvement in marketing.")

With this letter I wish to explain my interest for taking part in PhD project "***" which is proposed by the *** team.

I believe my motivation for applying for the position can be better understood considering my study path so far. I started my bachelor studies of Computer Science at *** Faculty of *** University in *** with clear intention to continue with master studies at the same place. After completing my bachelor degree I've chosen a specialization on Software Systems. From the beginning of my master studies I've been focusing on the field of formal methods in software development and especially on model-checking. During that stage I won the scholarship for excellent study results and finally I got my master degree this January with overall grade 1.

While working on my master thesis focused on model-checking of concurrent systems, I decided to get deeper knowledge in the field of formal verification and software reliability. I started to look for research groups and laboratories concentrating on these topics. I realized that *** group is dealing exactly with the problems I'm interested in and I immediately decided to apply for a PhD position in your team right after finishing my master studies. To get broader survey in the area of formal verification I started to attend a seminar, where many scientists focused on this topic present their current results. I also attend an intensive everyday course of French since September to reach at least basic level of the language.

My choice of my former university and faculty was based on general belief that this institution is the most challenging and provides the education of the highest quality in my country. This fact helped me to make my best while studying there. But now I appreciate an opportunity to focus on an exciting research topic even more than high demands imposed on students. I consider the *** group to be both the great challenge and the place of projects exactly corresponding to my research interests. I think of that as of opportunity to get broader view of formal methods and security and to take part in the top-class research project with exciting goals.
