What exactly is a British accent?

Geordie? Glaswegian? Scouse? Cockney? Brummie? Northern? Southern? RP? Estuary? Welsh? Irish?

According to an online BBC article from 2005:

"Sean Connery's Scottish lilt is the nation's favourite accent, a survey of people for a BBC project suggests. Sir Sean (Scottish) and the broadcasters Sir Trevor McDonald (English, but with a tinge of Caribbean) and Terry Wogan (Irish) have the most pleasant voices, according to 5,000 people questioned. It is part of a project to create an online "accent map" of the UK.

The least popular accents were those from Birmingham, Liverpool and Glasgow and the most unpopular voice was that of DUP leader Ian Paisley.

The Queen and Scottish comedian Billy Connolly appeared in both the 10 most and 10 least pleasant lists.

The BBC Voices project is recording interviews with 1,000 people from around the UK and is inviting others to participate through its website. The project's director Mick Ord said there had not been a "mapping" project for at least 30 years, so information about regional accents and dialects was out of date."

Personally I'm from the North West of England and I like my accent, even though it's definitely not RP! Then again, I wouldn't want it any other way

LOVE KOREAN TELENOVELAS! IT'S SOO FUNNY! ESP. MY GIRL!

        Im Christia from Philippines. Im just a simple girl and an ordinary type of girl.
        Presently,Im still studying Bachelor of Science in Nursing at North Davao College located in Davao City. I hate Nursing course but I can't do nothing coz my mom wants me to finish that course.I really love Tourism course but yah know,I didn't took it from the very start coz my brother wants me to study Nursing.So,that's it. And now,Im having lots of problems because of that course.
         Currently, Im now a 4th year College student. Im not fluent in English but for me If I rate myself,just good. We have an English subject since I was too young.Yah know,most people in my country know how to speak English.To tell you honestly,I really don't have a boyfriend.I don't experience yet of having a bf in my whole life. Of course,I want also to experience it.
        About my family, we are really poor. My mom is a cook and my dad is a Retired Government Employee. So bad...he is ill. My mom is 57 years old.My dad is 64. I have one older brother named Noel.He is really kind,caring,etc..I love my brother. He is an Electrical Engineer. He graduated at Silliman University in Dumaguete City. My mom is very patient and very caring to my dad. She works so hard but the salary here is very low. She assist my dad most of the time in waking up, going to the CR, etc... And she always do that with her work. So,it's really hard. Everyday, she lacks sleep.
       My life now is so hard coz I just force myself to continue Nursing course coz this course is very in-demand in abroad and It's easy to get a job here when you graduated from this course.And I hope I can finish this course. By the way, Im the type of person who mostly admires foreign movies,shows,countries,etc...Im also a girl of many dreams. I like to travel many different places around the world and have many friends from different countries, want to ride fighter planes, etc..I really want to meet different people around the world and seeing so many beautiful places...OOPS I forgot,also like to have a foreign boyfriend.
      Want to know more??Well, love watching TV so much and the Internet !! Reading also Magazines,books,different languages,newspapers,etc.. I have a Spanish Dictionary, A French book, and I have a German copy. I like also to learn many different languages. But so far,I didn't master any of them coz I have also have other things to do. Just some of them.So far, I learn more in French than any other languages which I want to learn. German is tough.

        I've got a lot of faves!! Like Formula 1, the Military, X-Games, BBC world, ABC Asia Pacific channel,etc..Just want to meet the people involved in this stuff!! I love also British accent. I love music!! My fave band is Simple Plan,etc.. If I will tell you one by one about my faves,spaces here can't accomodate..I will just tell you next time If you want.
          Presently, I really have no bf. It's 100% true. You know, I have no vices!! Just texting in the cellphone, surfing the net and watching TV!! I didn't experience yet of going to the bar, partying,drinking alcoholic drinks that is bad like beers,etc..Yah know,usual stuffs that teenagers do. Alcohol is good but If too much,it's bad.But I don't want to try it.


             Hmmm...what else can I say? More about me? Well, Im also the type of person who have many foreign Idols. I really want to travel around the world because it have many offers to the human beings. I also love Nature!! I love seeing fresh flowers, trees, gardens, rainforest,etc...!! I like rabbits!! Their nose is funny and they have smooth skin!! I like Maple Tree leaves although I didn't really meet a Maple Tree!!
