The International English Educational Research Association's (IEERA) TESOL Certification Program is an intensive course which provides participants with professional knowledge and skills in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) as well as tools for their own reflection and growth as teachers. It is designed to be offered intensively in four weeks or extensively over a longer period.

The course provides practical training through teaching demonstrations, lesson planning and analysis, and practice teaching and feedback. Participants develop skills in teaching, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and culture. The course begins with a brief look at second language acquisition through the experience of being a learner. Participants then examine specific teaching areas each day, which they apply in their daily practice teaching of adult ESOL learners. Participants gain skills in analysis through examining their lessons with IEERA teacher trainers.

The innovative course curriculum was designed by IEERA faculty, based on humanistic, experiential, and progressive teaching.

The IEERA International TESOL Certification Program focuses on three main areas:

Learning
Participants engage in a language-learning experience in order to explore the relationship between language learning, teaching, and aspects of second language acquisition from the point of view of the learner. This experience provides the foundation for the examination of teaching practices.

Teaching
Participants examine the theory and practice of planning, teaching, grammar, culture, and assessing lessons in the four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) through experiential activities, teaching demonstrations, discussions, lesson planning, materials development and readings.

Classroom practices
Participants put their new knowledge and skills into practice through daily teaching sessions. Trainers observe and facilitate feedback sessions after these lessons. Participants learn to reflect on and assess their own teaching as well as to examine the teaching of their peers.

The IEERA's International TESOL Certificate is recognized worldwide. Graduates find challenging teaching positions in the U.S. and abroad, or return to their current jobs with new skills and greater knowledge, awareness, and satisfaction. To facilitate networking, IEERA maintains a listserv that connects graduates of all IEERA courses.

I am new to this forum and I have discovered it when I was looking for formal letter samples. I want to apply to a College in Denmark and I want to have a chance to be chosen, so I am requiring help from anyone that is kind enough to offer it. I would also like to use the experience of interacting with the users of this forum to get prepared for the English test (sort of TOEFL, but not exactly) that I am required to pass for that College.
This is my letter of reference that I wrote for my teacher to sign. (I know this practice isn't the right way, but my teacher was very busy, so he asked me to do so). I would appreciate if you could have a look at it and spot mistakes and unusual phrases, if there are any.

expiration of toefl and ielts scores

As you are probably aware of the fact that the scores of tests like TOEFL and IELTS expires two years after the date of test. The reason they give for this is that one's proficiency in a foreign langauge changes considerably with the passage of time and if someone is not coming in contact with that foreign language then the deterioration of language skills is inevitable.

I do agree with their explanation. But what they say also applies to almost all other subjects. Take mathematics as an example. If someone is not working with math for sometime then his mathematical skills would deteriorate to a significant degree. I remember I once read somewhere that if you want to be good at mathematics, then do it on a regular basis. Even if you are a mathematician but you are not practicing mathematics, then the chances are that when you write 2 square is 4, you would wonder that why is 2 square equal to 4? That is quite right. I have not been doing any mathematics since last year, therefore what I read once exactly explains my condition. What do you on this?

Yes, I agree that my summary is too long, Shall I eliminate it and instead write a cover letter? I would just make it shorter and in point form. Think of it as a chance to highlight your strengths.

Is this summary suitable to be a cover letter? You could use parts of it, but focus on the purpose of a cover letter.

Say what job/kind of job you want

Introduce yourself and your skills briefly, in terms of why people should choose you for this job.

Ask for an interview or whatever action you want the agency to take

Do I need a cover letter for a recruiting agency after all? I don't know. I think it's probably a good idea.

What about the rest of CV? I've added a few comments.

There are also books etc. available that give sample CV's for professional people. Have you had a chance to look at such things? You should.

SUMMARY

A highly motivated, determined, and dedicated 29 year old general practitioner (GP) with practical work experience in conducting evidence based medicine during my 16th month compulsory national service, when I was working as a GP in a health clinic handling most aspects of a GP responsibilities. I'm writing to you to express my motivation to join SCAN section next year. Reading in the document of presentation, I was motivated to forward my resume to see if my qualification might be possible to join SCAN.

As we know, SCAN is a section that provides a multi-cultural environment and an international linguistic dimension. All SCAN students benefit from the same high-level scientific teaching with the specific feature of the SCAN section being that lectures, course work and practical classes are in English. I didn't understand what you meant.

Actually, English is the key of the international communication. In the world of engineer, english is also the key giving access to the fortune of scientific knowledge. To become a successful engineer, in the international environment , it might be necessary to master english. That is also my aim .Joining SCAN, I will have a chance to perfect my english, to discover science, as I always love to, with a new methods and a new points of view: the anglophone sciences. And through sciences, does it also a great way to discover an anglophone culture?

"Enthusiastic" was how I characterized my feelings towards SCAN section. As I always love Sciences and Foreign languages, during my secondary and high school, I have learnt sciences in French. With such an experience, I know how effective and interesting will it be, study these scientific subjects through the media of English. Nothing is easy, and SCAN section motivates me also by its challenges.

I am confident in my ability to study in english. For the first year at ASINSA, I had english course with the others french friends ,in the class 2/4. At the end of the first school years, I had .... points for my Toefl.
I believe having a necessary english level that can make sure of my ability to study at SCAN. About the scientific level, I am also ready to confront the new obstacle next year.

Hello everybody! I seriously need some help for correcting my motivation letter and my curriculum vitae. I have never done one before, so if you have any comments or you find any mistakes PLEASE let me know. I would definitely appreciate that!

My name is Alejandro Lopez and I am a 22 years old, highly motivated student at the University of Valencia, Spain. Currently, IÂ´m in my last year of a five year barchelorâs degree in Physics.

This year I am in Barcelona at Universidad AutÃ³noma of Barcelona with a spanish exchange program ( SICUE -SENECA) and in June i will be taking my final exams in Cosmology, standard model, relativiy , quantum computation and matter-light interaction.

I have always thought that theory is the basis of everything, but at the same time I am convinced that experience is what makes a person unique. I think that summer program can definitely provide a rare oportunity for gaining the valuable âhands- on experienceâ that I am looking for.

I am convinced that the experience of joining in a reserach group will be very helpful for me to further develop myself and to improve my knowledge. I am confident that the courses that i have taken will make me a good candidate for this intership.

I also would like to know more about German culture and society. Germany has a rich cultural and spiritual heritance i would like to live. I also would like to learn another language and experience another educational system.

Because of I have studied English over many years i think the languaje will not be a problem. I am a good learner and have fluent English; two years ago I successfully passed the FCE Cambridge and TOEFL Examination . In order to become much better, last year I had the chance to attend University of Texas in Austin with an internationAL exchange program. . I found that I was able to learn better residing in the country and I greatly appreciated the cultural experience because it gave me a unique motivation for further improvement in language.

My personal intention is to make a Master and then a PhD and follow an academic career as a university teacher. I think Germany is the ideal place to study more and gain as much knowledge, experience I can. I hope this intership in a join researchr program there will help me come closer to my target and provide me with all the necessary in order to fulfill my dreams.
