"Can you send it to me?" may sound rude . Also "can "has the meaning of ability to do someting.. Of course"could" has the same meaning but if you compare the two sentences, no one will think of the ability in the first question. Lastly, "could" is the past form of "can". To sum up, it depends on the context to use them. Both of them are grammatically correct but don't forget to use "?" , question mark, at the end of the second question.

Re: Punctuation after a sequence of questions?

JaCKo__007 wrote:

Hi everybody! I'm fresh around here.

Was wondering if anyone could help me out with a couple of questions.

The first is: say you have a series of questions one after another. What kind of punctuation would you use in between. Would it be simply: Why did you do this? Where is he? How could you have ever come up with such a thing? How dare you? Are you completely mad? Or would you use commas or semi-colons in between, or maybe something else? You would need the question marks.

The other question I have is:

Say you had a book with a multitude of chapters. And the main ones, of which there are 4, were all written in uppercase. What about the rest then? Would you write the chapters using the capitals rules for titles, or would you use capitals only for the first word of the chapter title? I've noticed books had descrepancies on this subject - maybe there's a difference between AmE and BrE? The way in which Chapter and Part titles are presented in books is generally the decision of the publisher's production and editorial departments. Authors may indicate a preference, but not generally. How you write them in your manuscript is entirely your decision and there is no right or wrong way.

Thanks a bunch!

Re: Help me with this :)
Your problem is with question marks, which you don't seem to use often.

The word order is the difference between the question form (What should I do?) and the statement form (I'm torn about what I should do. Oh, I know what I should do-- I should study harder.) None of the latter end with a question mark.

Re: differences ? thank you

Peaceblinkfriend wrote:

Hi all agian

I would like to know the differences between these pairs of sentences. Which is correct and why ?

1. a) What are the differences between these two ? OK. This suggests that there is (or may be) more than one difference.
    b) What is the difference between these two ? OK. This indicates that there is only or exactly one difference.

2. a) How many people are there? OK
    b) How many people is there? Wrong. You need 'are' because people is plural.

3. a) I don't know if she know who Jim is ? Wrong.
