I am an English businessman.

The way you're supposed to sign off a letter depends on how you start.

In a letter, if you don't know the name of the person to whom you are sending the letter, you start "Dear Sirs,". If you start with this form, it is correct to end with "Yours faithfully,"

In a letter, if you do know the name of the person to whom you are sending the letter, you start "Dear Mark,". If this is a formal letter, then it is correct to end with "Yours sincerely," - though if this is an informal letter you can end it however you want.

With email the conventions are more recent and less clearly defined. I often start with "Hi Mark", or "Hello Mark" (just "Mark," is a bit gruff) if I've already spoken with the addressee. Most emails to me usually follow this format. I usually end these emails with "Kind regards," though lots of people just use "Regards,"

I do use the "Dear Mark, / Yours Sincerely" format in emails if I'm making contact with someone for the first time.

In British English, if you were going to use this phrase in a formal letter, you should write 'I look forward to meeting you' , this and similar phrases are often used to close letters.
Informally, it would be ok to use 'I am looking forward to meeting you', but in the UK we would probably use ' I'm ' rather than ' I am ', so it would be 'I'm looking forward to meeting you'

United States was a good destination for people arond the world studying , but I am very embarassed because of a diversity of their systeme educaion. So, i am writing to ask you to send me a list of High School issue I-20 to foreign student . A lawyer is neither God, nor the president of the US. I would send a little amount of money (in a form you can prove it) to show, that you are aware of your debt and the following letter.

Dear Mr. X.Y.,

thank you for waiving $ *** of my debt. As a sign of my willingness to pay hereby I send you $ YYY. Unfortunately I am in a very bad financial situation, because ..(writing reasonable things here). I hope, that you understand my miserable situation and accept to pay in installments. As you can see I will do my best to prevent going to court, which would be an expensive and long procedure for your client and me as well. I always pay my debts in time and I am very sorry for not paying to your client, for which the only reason is, that I was absolutely unaware of my debr. Up to this time, I didn't receive any warnings, that I did not pay in time, so I am a little bit confused that how interest could raise the amount I owe. Please let me know if installments or a further waivement is acceptable to you, or not.

Need help writing a formal letter to an attorney + legal advice

Hello everybody.

I am new here, found this website when I was browsing on "how to write letters to an attorney".

So this is a pretty long story, but to make it short, I was given a summon to appear in court regarding a (small claim) debt which I was unaware of (kind of misunderstanding....long story as I said).

Anyhow, I represented myself because I could not afford a lawyer. The other party has a lawyer. After a talk with the lawyer about waiving some of the fee, he said he would contact me back.

he did today, and waived some of the fee, but still unreasonable for me. It will sound like I'm asking for more that what is already a good deal, but I believe I deserve it.

So, I want to write him back a letter showing my gratitude for the partial waiver, but I'd like to also ask for him to consider waiving more given my financial situation and given the situation of the whole case.

I'd be happy to tell the long story, but I prefer not to do it in a public forum. Since english is my second languange and I am not well versed in the legal world, I'd like someone here to give me some advice on how to write the letter, better yet, tell me about my decisions, is it good, bad, the chances the lawyer will waive more, how things usually work,...e.g are there a lot of room for negotiation, etc..

I am completely blank, never been to court...never had any legal problems, so this is real new to me.

If someone is willing to help, I'd appreciate it very much, please message me privately if you want further information about the story and help me out further.

By 'class 10', do you mean the French or English (Year 10, i.e. ages 14-15)? I suggest the English Year is more useful on this application.
