They didnât vote for a major who has no problem harboring illegals in his City. They didnât vote for these politicians who grant the reengages in the city to use the last Friday

of every month to exercise their bike riding right, clogging all the entrance and exits to the freeway with their slow moving bike parade by the thousands. I hate this city which I used to live. I am glad I donât have to deal with it anymore, except when I have to see my mother!

(Note: I'm a British English speaker, and there may be UK/US usage differences here. There may also be differences in personal preference.)

I would generally use "congratulations on". In cases such as "Congratulations on/for your marriage", or "Congratulations on/for your recent promotion", "for" sounds wrong to me. But in cases such as "Congratulations on/for doing such a great job", or "Congratulations on/for making this a success", "for" does not seem so wrong (though I would personally still use "on").

"Two teas, please" is perfectly natural to me.

Good point, Goodman. At first, I thought sex outside marriage meant sex when someone is single, the person is not married. But from the discussion, I've learned that it could include affairs during marriage even though that's not the common interpretation.

I agree with whoever it was who said it was any type of sex outside the sanctioned state of matrimonial bliss.

If you are 16 and not yet married, you can have "sex outside of marriage" by having pre-marital sex.

If you are 41 and divored and enjoying your freedom, you can have "sex outside of marriage" by having sex with anyone you can get your hands one.

I don't think it incudes the idea of "extra-marital sex" because that's obviously not sanctioned by those serving as the moral police.

You will not hear this term "sex outside of marriage" except in a discussion of morals, I should think.

To slightly revise my earlier reply... I think that you can understand this phrase literally -- to mean sex with someone to whom you are not married, irrespective of whether you are married to someone else. However, the phrase is often trotted out when discussing moral issues surrounding sexual behaviour, and this is the context that came to my mind first. In this common context, I take it to exclude "cheating" because it's usually a "given" that cheating on one's spouse is not to be condoned.
