There are people who, for some reason, will insert an apostrophe to form the plural any time they feel the least bit insecure about the way the word looks. (In this case perhaps the writer was worried that John would confuse the plural of "logo" with the Greek "logos." ) I had thought this was primarily an American sickness but I guess now it's infecting the UK as well.

The only time an apostrophe is necessary to avoid confusion is to form the plural of a lower-case letter: "Timmy is spelled with two m's." Some people use it for numbers, too ("the 1960's were a turbulent time") but most style books I've seen prefer to form the plural of numbers and capital letters with only the lower-case s (1920s).

Hi,

I've gone through the first paragraph for you and highlighted problems in the rest. Your main difficulty seems to be the use of singular/plural, verb tenses and knowing when you need a determiner. There are other errors as well though. Once again, NO CAPITAL LETTER AFTER COMMAS! Nicely planned essay. Sender/receiver not the right choice of words. You might want to find an alternative to 'set agenda' as well.

The hidden role of mass media

Many people think that the mass media has two roles, that is, for entertainment and for information. .In fact, the mass media has a hidden role; agenda setting. Agenda setting is controlling what news can or canât be released . Agenda setting has three factors, that is, media policy, media type and government policy. Firstly, media policy has a role in agenda setting, for instance, if that newspaper is a sport newspaper and it has two stories, one about the football league and one about the World Bank, then they will put the football story on the front page and wouldn't use the World Bank story. In additional, the editor may use agenda setting for the newspaper's image.If that newspaper is a 'hard news' newspaper, they must put any news on the front page that is compatible with their policy. If they put odd news on the front page that may degrade their image.

Next is media type. Much of the mass media chooses news or message that compatible their type and receiver. If the sender want to send message about anatomy to well educate people, The sender may send in feature or article form. On the contrary ,if the massage want to send in feature or article form and receiver is child or teen , The sender must send via another form. For example, when I was child I have seen cartoon about anatomy . If mass media isnât choose message or news in right way and right form that message may be lack of effective message.

Last, about government policy. Government policy is greatest factor to be made up agenda setting of mass media. In Many country, the governments can control mass media via law and policy by prohibit something that may can country to unstable status. In addition, the dictatorial leader use mass media for propaganda that can convert people attitude. In the same way the democratic government may control people via news. If the news has effect with cabinet in that country, they may bribe news station by broadcast news that can improve their image or distort news in other way.

All above factor that made up agenda setting, that effect public opinion. If many mass media have policy about war in Lebanon that isnât important news and put that news in small section. People may think about war in Lebanon is unimportant event or ordinarily events. Moreover, agenda setting can change attitudes about exalted person by report bad news about that person only. That may change attitude about that person. In advertiser, many brands put brand âs product in many way, especially in film and cartoon that can set agenda in receiver mind â everyone use it â or â do you want to outdate? â. In the same way , mass media can change social value by put â everyone use it â or â everyone do it â in public mind, for example, if media want to change attitude about wars âcause some people think war is commonly events in the world. The media may broadcast about effect of war in many ways. Finally, agenda setting is used in many way but base on one purpose â persuade receiverâs mind â.

Hi, I've highlighted your errors. Your main problems are

confusion about plurals, including using 'he' when you mean 'they'.

missing out 'the', 'an' or 'a' when they are needed

a few punctuation and related problems (you don't use a capital letter after a comma). You don't need to put thoughts in quotation marks, it is better just to say 'a lot of people thought that .....'

missing capitals on proper nouns such as the show names

I'd also use the word contestant rather than challenger to describe those participating in these shows. At one point I was rather confused and thought 'Challenger' was the name of a new show.

Last year reality show was boom in my country.The story began when Academy fantasia started first season.
Many people thought this program is singing contest as same as The star .(some people call " American Idol clone.).
After first concert had performed, Many people thought " Challenger's performance wasn't good enough "
because this program as same as other singing contest program (The star season 1 ,KPN Award etc.) and
reality show have never program on thai tv or cable tv.

Until a month ago,Many people changed his mind. He knew why TV broadcast live while challengered didn't show on stage.
Challenger began to have fanclub. someone had fanclub because his performance,but someone becuase his behavior.
Academy fantasia had be dramatic in the middle games and ended with impression in final round.

After Acedemy first season had been ended,Many television station announced to on air reality show .
Many reality show was on air that included Thailand next top model, Reality for find PR for agriculture bank ,Big Brother Thailand
,Prime minister show ( You watched about daily life of prime minister) and had rumor about reality show in jail !(but it was just rumor)
In fact many program was semi reality show. You couldn't watch him all time,but you watched scene that TV programer chose.Nevertheless you can vote him.

Many Program was changed to reality/semi-reality that included The Star season 2.
The star 2 turned to semi reality show .Despite someone criticized " Why do you copy academy fantacia ? " or " You aren't
Reality show you are singing contest " ,but The star 2 became popular in short time.

After The star 2 had been end , Academy Fantasia Season was start and became popular than first season.

The singing contest program was popular,but The album of the winner was unpopular. I think because his company can paid for his dream ,but can't support him.
Many people know who is winner ,but don't know what song in his album.

Everything can go to hightest and everything can go to lowest. After The star season 3 had been started ,many people complained
" singer in this season was low quality ". I didn't know why . Rating in this season was dropped dramatically .

In final round of this season ,every challenger 'show was kill by The secound winner of The star first season .

1. Run a spell-check. You seem to have problems with plurals as well, so work on that.

2. Re-write the first paragraph. The first sentence has you tying yourself in knots. Just state that you are writing to apply for the internship. The second sentence needs to take a different emphasis: why should they care what you want - they want to know that you have got what they want!

You don't state what your mother tongue actually is.

"I have no doubts that my work in your organization would be mutual beneficial. Another interesting point to note is the International System of Units uses this convention where prefixes meaning greater than 1 are written with a capital letter (60 Mbit memory) whereas prefixes meaning less than 1 are written with a small letter (89 nm). With the exception that kilo (1000), hecto (100) and deca (10) can use either.

I will offer an opinion, but you should wait for others, since I do not consider myself an expert. The question seems to have a few ambiguous aspects, which might lead to differences of opinion.

You say "Hours of Availability" is [the title?] of software. Then-- "Hours of Availability" was changed might mean that there are changes in the software (though not necessarily in the hours). However, if your Hours of Availability', (with capital letters), is an accurate writng of the phrase in question, we might assume that it is like saying your software program entitled 'Hours of Availability' was changed. If what you are changing is the hours [of availability], then I would vote for your hours of availability were changed.

It would be helpful to know just exactly what is being changed: the particular hours [when the worker is available], or general program features of Hours of Availability.

My hobby is basketball and tabble tennis. more than one hobby so you need the plural - 'hobbies are' . Check spelling 'tabble'
My favorite subject is astronomy and archaeology. plural?I want to become an astronomer and archaeologist. seems an unlikely combination, did you mean 'or' instead of 'and'

Frankly, I want to go to NASA because NASA is best of take out the 'of' world astronautics and space administration station.

stars are very mysterious but beautiful. capital letter S at start of sentence. Again, do you mean 'and' rather than 'but'.

The rule of parallel structure or number agreement in object complements-- 'see a male as a criminal' vs 'see males as criminals'. Both should be either singular or plural.

Hello,

I am trying to find the "proper" (or perhaps, "best" would be more correct) way to write the plural of a capital letter. Specifically, when describing grades, if a person receives 4 marks of "A" then would it be written as 4 As or 4 A's?

I've seen it both ways and can find support for both - I was just curious.
