Re: Plural surname
Seriously? Do you know of any word in the language that ends in S in which we make it a plural by adding another s? The only ones I saw were Jacobs's. Tim Jacobs's house is the last one on the street.

Re: Plural surname
Do you believe the same pattern is true for the surname Jacobs? Is the plural Jacobses or Jacobss (the double ss for a plural spelling popped up when I Googled it).

Re: shenanigan
You got the spelling fine, except that it's always plural -- shenanigans. It means mischief, fooling around, misbehaving in a complicated, energetic way. Like "fooling around," it could have a sexual connotation or not, depending on context.

Re: Persons/People
PEOPLE VERSUS PERSONS When should we use which?STORY STARTS> There is confusion about the best way to describe more than one person. It often feels better to speak of “three people” rather than “three persons”, but this suggests that people is the plural of person. The words people and person...

Re: Plurals of abbreviations - 1990's or 1990s
I think the p's and q's argument is most salient here. The apostrophe is used for the sake of clarity. While conventionally used for the possessive, the apostrophe is also used to indicate vernacular omissions and contractions, such as in the cases of "Ol' Dirty ***" or...

Re: Plural of s = s'es?

Re: Plural of s = s'es?
Seems that we are talking about different dictionaries instead of different versions. The name on the page you quoted does not have "Webster's". Anyway, why we need a plural for PS? A postscript is a short remark. Although it is possible that the "short" remark is not...

Re: The proper plural form for status is... stati? statii? statuses? Thanks.
LOL I am a software developer that wanted to name a variable correctly. Due to proper coding rules, I should not name the variable the same name as the software class (Status) that it is derived from so I did a quick Google search to find the proper spelling of the plural form. I still don't...
