Re: Motivation Statement, need some help

Hello Tanja. Basically, it is too wordy; few registrars will have the patience to wade through all that. I have crossed out unnecessary verbiage that should be deleted, and I have underlined any other (resulting) problem areas. You will have to do more revision to gramatically integrate the result of my deletions.

Motivation statement.

~~At present~~ I am a fourth year student of the Economics Department of ~~the~~ AAA University (Russia), specialized in Application of Mathematical Methods in Economics. I have chosen this area because it calls for new ideas and has an ~~obvious~~ implication in real life. Quantitive Economics ~~is the field~~ I am deeply interested in and I would like to pursue ~~my studies in this direction~~. ~~This is the main reason~~ I want to participate in the QQQ Master Program.

~~I think that~~ due to my ~~previous~~ academical experience ~~in AAA University~~ I have ~~acquired~~ sufficient ~~base of~~ knowledge in economics, as well as strong mathematical background~~, which permits me~~ to satisfy the requirements of QQQ Program. I ~~made progress in studying all the theoretical and practical courses,~~ concentrating ~~my special attention~~ on mathematical modeling, optimization and econometrics. ~~In addition,~~ I felt the lively interest in researching some concrete areas and this experience taught me how to apply economic theory to ~~the actual~~ topical problems. For instance, my 3rd year research project is ~~devoted to~~ ~~the~~ mathematical modeling in monopoly pricing on the telecommunication market; in my Bachelor Degree paper I ~~try to~~ evaluate the impact of infrastructure on ~~the level of~~ economic development in Russia~~n regions~~.
During my fourth year, I also ~~had the exceptional possibility to~~ take an internship in ~~the well-known international auditing and consulting company â~~Ernst & Young. ~~There is no doubt that I can turn this experience to my advantage. Firstly,~~ I ~~had the opportunity to~~ acquire ~~some new important~~ abilities which I could use for research in my master dissertation, such as ~~analytical~~ skills ~~that make it possible~~ to analyze ~~considerable amounts of~~ information in the most effective way. ~~Secondly~~, ~~combining work with study~~ I learned how to manage my time and establish priorities. ~~Finally, the~~ work ~~experience~~ in the international company is precious for my ~~future~~ career.

~~There is another reason why~~ I want to apply for QQQ Program because ~~I think that unfortunately~~ in Russia there is no concept of economics as a single science, and most ~~of the theoretical and practical~~ approaches are adopted from foreign school of economics. ~~However,~~ for me it is ~~very~~ important to be in centre of ~~the~~ ~~topical~~ scientific activity, feel the latest tendencies and follow the ~~permanent~~ development of economic concepts. ~~Great European traditions in economics as well as its actual scientific work~~ ~~I am attracted to the BBB University, for instance~~ the possibility to collaborate with eminent professors from several research laboratories such as *** and YYY attracts me to BBB. QQQ Program will also permit me to work in the competitive environment, to share ideas ~~and to establish connections~~ in the scientific and business world.
~~Besides, I am interested in~~ this program ~~because it~~ meets my general interests in economics and ~~particularly~~ enables me to develop my current research project in macroeconomics and econometrics. For example, I could take a different view of mathematical modeling in macroeconomics because of the courses NNN and MMM. ~~I see~~ another ~~significant~~ advantage of the curriculum â ~~the possibility~~ to choose among numerous elective courses~~. Thereby I can~~ concentrate ~~my attention~~ on the ~~set of~~ lectures that ~~exactly~~ satisfy my requirements. In addition, ~~during my studies not all the fields were covered although they were interesting for me, such as study of finance, which was rather limited, and that is why~~ I would like to take the course OOO to broaden my horizons in this field.

~~Obviously,~~ this degree will give ~~a considerable~~ incentive to my ~~professional~~ career. Econometrics, different methods of data estimation and prognostics can be successfully applied in ~~the business environment of today, such as~~ business analytics, forecasting of financial markets, etc. My work ~~experience~~ in a big consulting company gave me ~~a reason~~ to think that there were numerous possibilities for professional development and a great demand for specialists ~~in this area~~. ~~In this connection, I consider the~~ study at QQQ Program will extend my knowledge, ~~which is~~ necessary for my ~~successful~~ promotion in this sphere. ~~With my dedication and acquired abilities, it will be the best combination for the achievement of my professional ambitions~~.

Thus, I believe that my academic background in ~~different areas of~~ economics and mathematics and serious intentions to study and research will be beneficial for my graduate studies. ~~Moreover, I am sure that using all my ideas, experiences and abilities I can make my best contribution to the QQQ Program.~~

Is America being run by psychopathis war criminals?

Here is a little background;

Former associate editor of the Wall Street Journal and former Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury Dr. Paul Craig Roberts expressed his dire warning that the US government has fallen into the hands of psychopaths and that the Neo-Cons in the Bush administration may be set to stage another terror attack in the US as part of a black operation to demolish growing dissent and coerce the public to rally behind the government once again.

During an interview with the Alex Jones Show, Roberts cited a Capitol Hill Blue article concerning a leaked memo circulating between top Republican leaders.

The memo outlines potential strategies to bring their agenda back online, including the capture of Osama bin Laden, a drastic turnaround in the economy or a resolution of the war in Iraq.

The most alarming option includes a terrorist attack that would validate the President's war on terror and "restore his image as leader of he American people."

This document adds to the mountainous pile of smoking gun evidence of government complicity in staged terror attacks and other false flag operations. It has now been declassified, as we already knew, that the Gulf of Tonkin never happened. It was staged to get us into Vietnam. Operation Northwoods was the official US government plan to carry out 9/11 style attacks against the American people and blame it on foreign enemies as a pretext for war.

Publicly published PNAC documents before 9/11 had saliva stains all over them as Dick Cheney and others talked about helpful Pearl Harbor attacks.

Roberts went further than he has ever gone before in stating that the Neo-Cons were worse than Hitler and Stalin because they publicly embrace torture and pre-emptive war, something that past despots at least tried to hide.

As the Senate bill to block torture is blocked by Bush and Cheney, the promotion of torture in official circles continues.

US National Security advisor Stephen Hadley refused to rule out torture in the case of an imminent attack, telling CNN's Late Edition that there are cases where the Bush administration's empty pledge not to torture would apply.

George Bush' repeated statements of "we do not torture" would certainly ring hollow to the thousands of disappeared individuals, now subject to God knows what in secret ex-Soviet gulag camps all over the Eastern Bloc.

And also to those subject to torture mastermind Donald Rumsfeld's Copper Green program, which manifested itself with arbitrary rape and fatal beatings at Camp X-ray and Abu Ghraib.

Paul Craig Roberts said that the US government is in the hands of dangerous psychopaths who are a disgrace to the human race and who should be arrested as war criminals and turned over the the Hague.

Roberts outlined his conviction that the torture program was not set up to gain any kind of real information from accused detainees because torture is renowned for extracting useless and false information. The real reason for the torture is to make the terrorists implicate themselves and thus create the perception of a real terrorist threat.

This is exactly the process in Uzbekistan, where the government was caught torturing innocent people into confession and then using the confessions as evidence that the government needed to crack down on terror.

Roberts said that the CIA was aware that the vast majority of detainees are not terrorists, proven by the fact that Pakistani gangsters admitted to rounding up innocent people in street sweeps and selling them to the US government as terrorists for anything up to $25,000. These people are now at Guantanamo Bay.

Roberts pointed out that only nine so-called terrorists have been brought to trial and none have been convicted. Why do individuals have to be held for four years without trial if there is proof that they can be convicted with? Army interrogators have gone public with their frustrations that these people are obviously not terrorists but they are still ordered to keep them. Images of mass ranks of terrorists are pure lies on the part of the insane Neo-Cons.

People who refuse to torture and blow the whistle on it, like General Janis Karpinsky and Rick Baccus are ejected and replaced with cadres of torture teams willing to do the dirty work. Roberts said that these torture teams would be turned loose on US citizens before long.

Roberts said that America is the most hated nation on earth by design and that the military is completely out of control. The barbarism in Iraq practiced by the US occupational government will live in infamy when it is historically judged by hindsight.

Paul Craig Roberts is part of a crescendo of credible voices stepping forward to blow the whistle on the megalomaniacs in the White House as the insanity of the US government reaches unprecedented levels.
