The Sudanese Dream is that we as the proud nation of Sudan would unite and think as one nation, not calling ourselves northern, southern, eastern, or western. This will help us come up with the best plan for our children's future and our homeland. We have to understand that in order to solve our problems and achieve benefits from them, we have to talk and debate with one another.

Guns, hatred, and war have failed and will not take us anywhere near peace. We as a nation must understand that we're in the same sinking boat. In order to save ourselves, we cooperate with one another to patch the holes in our society.

To bring a dream of Sudan into reality, we have to know first how to love, respect and understand one another in a higher manner.

Two aunts, smaller than the tip of your fingers, lacking human brains and in the middle of nowhere are able to work together to share dew with one another. We human beings have brains and are very able to share what is good for us in Sudan and make it a better place for coming generations. If we all agree on this, then and only then can we talk about building this dream, bringing it into reality. This dream will never be possible without YOU. As we all know, Sudan is large in size and so large problems come with it.

Somewhere in our development in Sudan we have gone wrong and shown that we DO NOT love, respect and understand one another, and we have shown that we do not share the good. This causes anger to come from all sides of Sudan.

We are not here to judge what happened and we have to put the past behind us and look toward a bright future that will come soon to all of us.

The dream is called the Rectangle of Peace. This rectangle will spread over most of Sudan, touching with it a little bit of every state. The rectangle contains all of the projects that could take Sudan to a new level that has never been seen before.

The projects are the biggest ever on the face of the earth and they are as follow:

Sport Complex City: ready to host any international events on the world level. Contain all the world's sports.

Medical City : not only a hospital that treats , but does researches too for finding cures to all dieses in the world .Sudanese citizen treatment is free of charge .

University City: every major that across your mind you can find it in the University City. Student body of the university that holds up to one million students from all over Sudan, and 200,000 of the million going to be from around the world as international students.

Airport City: Airports that does more than departure and arrival services. Itâs going to hold air shows, and aviation science research centers.

Mall City: under one roof you can own the world's finest brands kind of mall is the Mall City all about.

Factory City: a city that proud of putting labels that says âMade in Sudan â to secures Sudan's need from everything , and even going behind to secure the international needs.

Zoo City : The wild life and nature of Sudan holds the real beauty of the African safrie and wild life , and that going to put the troursit in the real expresince of Zoo City .

Agriculture State : state that knows everything about grwoing all kind of food . and ready to feed one billion around the world .

As far back as I can remember, even as a small child, I recognized in myself a deep passion for fashion and had the ultimate goal of becoming a top designer for the fashion and entertainment industries. I believe that FIT will be a great building block toward that goal. After learning of your schoolâs history and reputation for developing the finest designers in the industry, I know that attending the institute would gain for me the training and experience I need to obtain my ambition. I am a hard-working, determined individual who will strive to surpass expectations and I hope to be able to contribute to the schoolâs repute.

As a very goal-oriented person, I have already set a few standards in order to achieve my aspiration. First, I want to acquire the necessary skills to succeed in the industry by attending a prestigious school, such as FIT. Secondly, I plan to obtain an internship with a recognized designer or company such as Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, or Zara. I was involved in such activities as clerical assistance, errand running, and event planning for patients and employees. I was received the Most Versatile and Most Creative volunteer awards, as well as the Most Hours award for 2 years in a row. During high school and my first year of college, I worked at Suedeâs Restaurant. I was first assigned as a hostess, but over the four year employment period, I learned several roles including waiting tables, food preparation, and some management. For two years of college, I worked part-time at Lady Footlocker. This was my first taste of customer service with respect to retail. I learned to meet customer needs while maintaining business goals. I was able to incorporate fashion into this job by offering customers items to match and coordinate with shoes and apparel.

In the summer of 2005, I had the opportunity to work as an activities leader for Astoria Park Elementary School. I was responsible for tutoring and supervising students as well as providing meaningful learning experiences through creative activities. It was an amazing experience for me because I was able to integrate my artistic enthusiasm and my passion for children. After the summer program ended, I became a live operator with PATLive. This job has enhanced my customer service skills by allowing me to deal with a variety of situations and my typing skills as typing is a major part of the job. I have also become an active listener and am able to communicate and relate to others better.

In my free time, I enjoy arts and crafts. I am a great lover of anything having to do with art. I love to sew, knit, and crochet as well as paint and draw. When Iâm not caught up in my own creations, I love spending time interacting with children. I find them to be so inspiring in art as well as life in general. Another major part of my spare time is spent in church. In addition to weekly worship services and bible study, I recently joined the drama ministry and enjoy the task of working on costumes and the production of performances. When I am not in church or doing arts and crafts, I like to read, watch movies, and play tennis.

With respect to fashion, I study periodicals and view runway shows at www.newyorkmetro.com as well as attend local college fashion shows in order to keep up with the latest ideas in the fashion world. I constantly practice rendering and illustrating techniques so as to sharpen my skills and find the best mediums of use. My strengths would include my ability to learn and adapt quickly, ambition, creativity, perseverance, and intelligence as well as my sewing and drawing skills. My present weaknesses are my lack of formal training and experience in the industry as well as rendering and sketching flats. To get an idea of the FIT curriculum, I studied two book recommended by the faculty, Portfolio for the Fashion Designer by Linda Tain and Illustrating Fashion by Steven Stipelman. I believe that the books have helped me improve upon my weaknesses with respect to rendering and sketching flats. However, I do look forward to further tuning those skills at FIT and receiving critiques about my work.

When it comes to design, I really admire distinct styles. For that reason, three of my favorite designers are Carolina Herrera, Michaels Kors, and Betsey Johnson. I also have a budding interest in classic and vintage designs with a modern twist. My only dislike is a lack of creativity. I cannot respect any design or work of art that is deficient in thought or thoroughness.

And, could you please look for non English phrases or expressions as I might not notice them, but you certainly will recognize that it is a strange way of expressing a point. Suggestions are always welcomed. I would really appreciate your effort in helping me.
This essay is intended as a reaction paper for a university course. The pronoun I is emphasized, and that is why I have used it a lot.

Adaptation

Adaptation can be defined in anthropological terms briefly as the interaction process between changes an organism makes in its environment and changes the environment makes in the organism. In my case, the environment was the most influential part. I used to live in a nuclear family where every member of the family felt obliged to help and take care of the others. There, no one is expected to face his problems alone, no one is expected to carry the burden alone, and even it is not true that it is your own responsibility to decide in difficult situations without taking the other members' concerns into account. Life there could be described as living on a ship where your acts could sink the whole ship if you weren't very careful. Whenever you are in trouble you feel overwhelmed by the reaction of the people around you. Everyone wants to contribute, to take part in the helping process. It is not only in crisis, but even in the smallest parts of everyday matters. I was dependant on others majorly in my life, and also they were dependant on me in parts of their life. Not to mention the routinely stuff like cooking for example, and other household duties. I rarely needed to cook my own dinner which I regarded as a normal thing. I can describe that as group subsistence where the division of labour is obvious almost in everything. It has all been changed since I've moved to Vancouver. The environment changed completely from group subsistence patterns to individual subsistence patters. Suddenly, I'm alone taking responsibility over everything and anything going on in my life. There is no one dependant on me, and I'm independent from others. Things that were rare became usual and things that were usual became rare. It was hard on me to adapt to this sudden change in my life, but eventually I have adapted to it by developing new strategies, and organizing my life in a way I could handle all the duties by myself. Learning that I'm responsible for everything in the house made me change my way of looking to things around me. I started to divide my week to days for certain type of work, and not to mention the great change in my daily routine. It is rare that I don't cook my meals for example. What I'm trying to say that people sometimes adapt to new environment where they never imagined themselves to do. So, people are adaptable in nature they can almost adapt to any environment and, my case is just a simple example where the environment change completely to the opposite and still I'm able to adapt to it successfully. Meaning that the environment is what shapes the individual into what he thinks he is more than it is his nature to be the way he is, and it does alter him much more than how he thinks he has altered it.
