Hi guys,

My vacation is coming to an end, so I decided to visit at least one castle near my hometown.
This time I choosed beautiful castle Lysice, which is located maybe 25 km outside of my hometown.
This castle was built at a former place of a medieval fortress. It has got its todays shape from
the 30s of the 18th century when it was reconstructed in Baroque style. The interiors were also
reconstructed in classical style in the beginning of the 19th century. The historically important
interiors are all preserved with original furnishing and rich collections (libraries, gallery, chapel
with little organ). One of the libraries belonged to a very important Austrian writer -
Marie Ebner from Eschenbach, born Dubska, who spent part of her life here and she is also buried here.
The complete reconstruction began in 1967 and in 1972 the castle was opened for public.
In the castle garden you can see for example a beautiful porch (first two photos in row 3),
it is a European rarity! They didn't allow us to make a photos inside of the castle, but I made some
photos outside of the castle, especially in the reconstructed beautiful castle garden. Well, enjoy the
photos, btw I put them at server, where they should stay really long time. So I hope they won't vanish
after one week..:-))

Problem solved (first photos)

Hi guys,
Hmmm, I turned off my antispyware resident shield and even my Norton Internet Security application, nothing helped. HTML widget for photo inserting was crashing all the time. To figure out this problem I'd need to know, what technology this forum is using. But it doesn't matter, I found another way. I owe admins another apology..:-), because EF has outstanding HTML support!! Next set of photos is from the National park, which is situated maybe 3 hours outside of the city where I was born. I took these pictures last summer during my vacation. Tommorow I'll send some photos from the downtown of the city where I'm living..:-)

HTML forever!!!...:-)

A volunteer in the event would be a contestant rather than a staffer.

Concerning the "sponsor" example, I believe both are common, with a shade of difference in meaning, but I can't seem to get a handle on it right now. Your teacher probably wants "of."

Concerning the "understanding" example, I'm sure your teacher wants "of" , but I also hear the other choice, as in "what's your take on this matter?" take = understanding    Perhaps it's a colloquial meaning, such as "I thought we had an understanding on this!" (an agreement)

Some of these are really difficult; I don't envy your teacher. Common usages often corrupt the pure meanings of the nouns so that an alternate meaning seems to call for an alternate preposition. If you said, "What's your opinion of/on this matter?," and it's a controversial issue, your opinion on it could be, "I'm against it." Your opinion of the issue could be, "I think it's stupid." I don't think you can say that a given noun always takes the same preposition. I believe you can change the preposition to show which meaning you intend.

If I want to present a separate piece of information along with a text, can âP.S.â and âby the wayâ be used interchangeably (i.e., Wish you a very happy birthday. May your shadow never be less. By the way/P.S., I will come tomorrow.) or will only one specific of the two be used?

My hometown is Al Ain, which is the capital of Abu Dhabiâs mainland Eastern Region in United Arab Emirates. It is a green city nestling in the shade of a mountain called Hafeet.

This street looks scary from this sight! The mountain district is surrounded by groundwater resources.

There are many forts and archaeological sites.

This is the center of the city.
