(***).
From November/2007 to May/2008 I worked at the *** facilities together with
domain experts to design and build the software system, while maintaining the
research related with my MSc studies at the university.

I believe that through Formal Methods one can achieve true engineering
concepts for software correction by construction, and that, due to the
overwhelming expansion of software applications, not only critical systems
should be proven safe and correct.

Nowadays software is embedded in almost every system we use, and in most
cases,
the producers os these artifacts not only don't provide warranty, but will
relieve themselves from any obligation with disclaimer notices.

Formalizing software development, as other engineering driven development
communities have done in the past, will give it scientific grounds to hold on,
and probably increase its quality.
Kind Regards,

***

motivation letter confused :(

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I want to apply for a job in consultancy or management. It is going to be sort of a career change but not really a complete career change. I'm writing a motivation letter but don't seem to get it right or don't know :( could you please correct this one and give me ideas and feedback about what i should write in? The reason i want to leave my current job is there is no career development for me there and i don't want to loose my skills with no development. same time i don't know how to put that down in the motivation letter

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in regards to ……………position offered at your …………. I am a candidate worthy of consideration. I have an excellent engineering education. I have been on diverse engineering and IT courses that broaden my technical background in a number of fields. I have a track record that clearly demonstrates my qualifications. You will certainly find this clear from my application.

I have the traits required to be a successful ..(consultant or manager depend on job). I can bring along managerial experience from the time I owned my business. I can also bring technical expertise, initiative, hard working, team player, creative but realism thinking, methodological problem solving skills and above all can establish and maintain excellent client relationship.

I am not just looking for a job; I am looking for a company where I can flourish. A continuous mental challenge is a must to stretch my abilities and drives me to thrive. I have the attitude of “do what it takes”. I am looking for a place where career development is well defined. I believe that your company rewards these traits and values.

I would like to thank you in advance for your time and any consideration you may give me. My name is Katerina Vaculikova and I am a 21 years old student in my second year of studies, at the St. Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, Palacký University, Olomouc. The purpose of this letter is not only to describe my educational and professional background, but also to <strike>focus your attention on</strike> demonstrate how highly motivated I am for such an opportunity.

I first became interested in social work through being involved into an integrating project for handicapped people under the aegis of EU, The Inclusion Czech republic. <strike>Within this project</strike> I was responsible for preparing and organising 2-day workshops as well as <strike>for</strike> keeping foreign relations, relations with donors and also with those who made this project really working – people with any kind of handicap.

During the last two years of my studies, I went through my working experiences in a variety of institutional and other facilities and with many types of clients. As my school practices went on, I subsequently realised who I want to work whit. I feel the closest relation to the target group <strike>represented by</strike> of elderly or mentally handicapped people. I know that I can offer them the best of myself, try to make their troubles more tolerable and accept them as unique beings. I cannot even describe how satisfied and happy I always feel while working with them.

<strike> Concerning</strike> my language skills<strike>, they</strike> are based on my working experiences abroad. I spent almost six months in London, working and discovering a beauty of England and I found this place very beautiful. This two-month working experience could give me a chance to improve my language skills and show me what the care is alike in one of the most advanced countries of the world. Because no matter where you are and no matter what you do, the main principle of social work should still be to help <strike>to</strike> the needed ones as much as possible.

In order to <strike>be good and </strike>achieve high standards, I need to obtain not only theoretical, but also practical knowledge and I am convinced that this higher level of experience could help me to prove that. I would like to combine the knowledge I already know and <strike>any</strike> new information, align the knowledge and gain a wider perspective on the matter. Furthermore, I feel that such an opportunity is a way how to find out what I really want and if my life journey has taken the right direction. Taking this type of challenge can help me to discover what is truly hidden inside me.

French novelist Anatole France once said: “To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act.” After a few years of child dreaming I came to know that if I finally try to turn my dreams into reality I could better envision my future and direct the path of my life… and therefore I am catching this opportunity. J

Yours faithfully,
Re: Shall I write my name and address at the top right side of my Motivation Letter..?

Hi,

Yoong Liat is correct about the dictionary bit.
Illa
Dear Sir/Madam, My name is *** , I am a biology student from AB University (Rome), I’m graduated in Ecology and I’m actually attending to the first year of the Master (equivalent to 4th year) in Ecology and Evolution. I’ll give you some information about my background: I have raised in a small town in the centre of Sardinia; I ever been interested in biology and environmental problems and at the same time I wanted to live in a bigger city that could give me more opportunities, so I decided to leave my town and go to study in Rome at AB university, where I found a bachelor course that reflected exactly my interests.I ever been also interest in applying to Erasmus project because, as I’ve done some years ago when I came to Rome, I would like to do a period of study out of my country, and have the possibility to improve my knowledge of English and to learn another language.I’ve chosen to apply for Leiden University for the next academic year because this is a prestigious university and one of the oldest and most important in Europe, and it’s excellent rating for research make me sure that this would be strongly enrichment experience, both for my studies as well as for my future job.I’ve visited and red with great attention the “Institute of Environmental Science”(CML) website, and I found very interesting the possibility to do a training research project in contact with other biology students, an experience that would be very stimulant for me.Precisely I would be interested in doing a research project in “risk assessment of exotic invasive species”, which I would turn into a thesis in my home-country University.I think that this topic is of a great importance for the sustainable use of the environment, which is one of the main objectives of applied ecology, and I would like to improve my knowledge about this theme, not only from an ecological point of view but also considering the economic and social aspects, that are beyond every environmental problem, and about the procedures of risk assessment. Applying in Erasmus project in Leiden would also give me the opportunity to spend a period in a beautiful and friendly town, in a country that attract me for it’s being so tolerant and open-minded, to come in touch with Dutch culture and kindness, and to meet many other students from other European countries and know other ways of life. So, in conclusion, I think this would be a very formative experience, as a student as well as a person. Looking forward a your positive response, I give you my best regards, ***

thing encouraged me to ask help and suggestion for my motivation letter
for graduate program.I thank to all in advance..

Letter of Intent

Power Electronics is an enabling
technology, with vast applications in various fields. Some of the more familiar
arenas include Utility Power Conditioning, Electrical Power Conversion, Motor
Control and Servo Actuation. These technologies and
inventions have always fascinated me.
When I was child I would satisfy my curiosity by using batteries, motors
and machines from my electronic toys. For example I used to remove motors from
my cars and robots. I would then put the
ice cream stick on the motor shaft and supply power with battery to make a fan.
I used to light the bulb with battery by using gold leaf instead of using
wires. Therefore I was delighted when I gained admission into my undergraduate
degree which allowed me to build on my talents.

The purpose of
the forthcoming statement is to introduce myself and my achievements, more
importantly, why I want to pursue my further studies in Electrical Power Engineering.
I did my Bachelor’s of Engineering in Industrial Electronics at the Institute
of Industrial Electronics Engineering (IIEE), NED University of Engineering and
Technology, Karachi.
I also joined the SUPARCO (Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission of
Pakistan) as a Design Engineer. The work that I am involved in is the design
and development of various power systems which include DC Power Distribution
System, DC to DC conversion and motor drives for different systems. My involvement in these projects has carved my
skills and heightened my understanding of the field of Electrical Engineering. Despite
this I feel the need to build upon my accumulated knowledge for the betterment
of the projects.

My main
motivation for applying to this program is to develop advanced understanding of
Power Systems, operation of interrelated power systems, high voltage technology
and Motor Drives. The vision of research work and jobs in Germany is an
attractive prospect to young engineers and professionals. Where technology is concerned, the country is
very advanced. Many multinational companies
that are behind inventing the most highly intensive technologies in the world
are German. That is my main reason for
choosing Germany
as my place of research.

Furthermore, I
have learned from my friends and the university’s published research activities
that RWTH Aachen University is the
largest university of technology in Germany. Not only that, I believe it is one of the
most renowned institutions in Europe. To me, your department
of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
seems to be one of the best in carrying out research in my chosen field Design and development of high efficiency, reliable and fault tolerant
power systems and motor drives designs are what I aim to learn about at Aachen University.
Study in this area will help me to flourish both academically and practically,
as the nature of my job requires me to know the nuances of the field – the
field which I have strong affinity to.

Also, I have a good understanding
of AC/DC Power Conversion, AC/AC Power Conversion, DC/AC Power Conversion and
DC Motor Drives. I intend to continue exploring these fields, specifically the
field of Motor Drives. I would like to
pursue work on high power motor drives, implementing various advanced power
control schemes through efficient utilization of hardware and software. In particular I would like to concentrate on
the design of power converter topology and the control switching scheme.

With regard
to my preparation for the MS program,
I have a solid base in Power Electronics, Control Engineering, Microprocessor
Implementation and Electrical Machines. I have taken courses in mathematics,
electronic instrumentation, digital design and circuit theory to enhance my
skills. I have also completed number of real projects in the relevant fields.

Finally, I have
been involved in many relevant extra-curricular involvements. I was selected to represent my university in
a National Level Project Competition held at NED in October 2003. Consequently I won 3rd prize. I was also an active IEEE student member and
organised a number of successful seminars, presentations and symposiums.

Completing an MS
with your institution will give me many opportunities in my chosen industry. I hope you will allow me the opportunity of
joining this university. It will
definitely enhance my capabilities through the enjoyable experience of research
work. As well as this, completion of my
chosen program will give me many opportunities in Siemens.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Kind regards, Stefan X

Stefan X

Home Address

International Office

Adress (date comes here)

Dear Ms X and Ms Y,

Hereby I would like to explain my wish to study Business Administration at the University of X during the first semester of my third year.

Ever since I heard of the possibility of studying abroad, the idea of doing that hasn’t left my mind. My desire for going to study in a different country keeps growing. There are several reasons for this desire to study abroad.

First of all, I would like some international experience. After my study, I wish to become a manager in an international company, so studying abroad would be a large step towards reaching that goal.

Secondly, I enjoy experiencing new cultures. I am very interested in different cultures, so studying abroad is a great opportunity to continue my studies, and learn new cultures and meet interesting foreign students at the same time. When I was younger, I went to Scandinavia on holiday once, and ever since I’ve been interested in the North European culture. Studying abroad would be a perfect chance to increase my knowledge of the Swedish (and Scandinavian) culture.

Further, I would like to improve my English. Even though I write, speak and understand English already quite well, it is not fluent yet. Studying in a foreign country will help me bring my English to a higher level. This is also important for my future job desire at an international business.

Most foreign universities do not give lectures in English. For improving my English, and being able to understand the courses given, it was important for me the lectures were given in English. Not long ago, a friend of mine has been to X for a week. He told me it was a beautiful city with friendly people. X University has a campus, and the idea of living at a campus, combined with the friendly people, the English courses and the Scandinavian Culture made me chose X instead of the other options like City B and City C. Also, the courses given at the X University are fairly similar to the courses given at the Y University, so my study progress shouldn’t be slowed down, which is important as well. I look forward studying at the X University in Sweden already, and I hope I am given the opportunity to have a challenging, exciting and of course enlightening period in Scandinavia!

Sincerely,

(Signature comes here)

Stefan X

Most of the specific details have been deleted, Stefan. -- mod
