I left it as is because it seems that in many cultures a level of politeness is normal which seems excessive to me here in Canada. A lot of these leave letters we get asked about would not even be written in Canada, or would be written in a very different way. When writing a resignation letter do you write in as formal and go Dear Mr/Ms Last name or can it be the first name. I know resignation letters are formal document but at work I don't call the boss' name formally, just by the first name. So how do I go about the salutation?
thanks

Re: resignation letters (Guest:Venkatraj)

Name and Address Date Manager Name Company Name Address Dear (Manager Name) Effective one month from the date of this letter, I resign my position as (Title). (Say something nice, but be brief; recommended!) Sincerely, Signature (Your Name), (Title)

Re: resignation letters (Guest:Venkatraj)

Get right to the point. Start off the letter by stating your intention to resign and by mentioning your acceptance of another offer or other reason for leaving, such as moving cities. Make sure you say when your last day of employment will be. It is common courtesy to give two weeks notice before ceasing employment. You may wish to mention that the offer you have accepted is for a position that fits better with your personal preferences or career goals. You should also thank your employer for the opportunity to work for his/her organisation.

Resignation letters

Could you send me the format of resignation letters?
