I understand "Your Excellency" is sometimes used for ambassadors. It sounds too regal for my tastes.

For example, "It is our honor to invite Your Excellency to XXX exhibition..."
instead of "It is our honor to invite you to XXX exhibition...".

What about, "We are honored to have you as our guest at XXX exhibition"? Or, "We are honored to invite you to ...." I like active as opposed to passive voice.

I hope that gives you some ideas to play with.

MountainHiker

Help writing invitation letter to Ambassador

Hello. I'm writing from Japan.
I have to send an invitation letter to some Ambassadors to Japan.
I know I have to use "Your Excellency" or "Excellency" as Salutation, but should I repeat Excellency all the time in my main text in the letter?
For example, "It is our honor to invite Your Excellency to XXX exhibition..."
instead of "It is our honor to invite you to XXX exhibition...".

I hope you see what I mean.
Thank you for your attention and reply in advance.
