Hi, Please tell me if a quantifier like 'a lot', 'many' or 'some' and a determiner like 'a' or 'the' can be in the same sentence. I think you mean 'in the same phrase'. eg, the a lot of (many/some) apples -- What if it is followed by a restrictive phrase or clause? I don't think it will work...
