I would appreciate if you take a look at my reference letter

Hello !
I am new to this forum and I have discovered it when I was looking for formal letter samples. I want to apply to a College in Denmark and I want to have a chance to be chosen, so I am requiring help from anyone that is kind enough to offer it. I would also like to use the experience of interacting with the users of this forum to get prepared for the English test (sort of TOEFL, but not exactly) that I am required to pass for that College.
This is my letter of reference that I wrote for my teacher to sign. (I know this practice isn't the right way, but my teacher was very busy, so he asked me to do so). I would appreciate if you could have a look at it and spot mistakes and unusual phrases, if there are any.

I am writing this letter as a recommendation for [me], a student at â[my school]â National College, in the quality of Teacher and Class Master at â[my school]â National College.

I have known [me] for almost four years, and in this time he has proven to be an extremely valuable student, with a great potential for learning, surpassing many other students.

In my opinion, during the time I spent with [me] in class, I can say I got to know him quite well. He has proven to me that he has an ample knowledge in the field of technology, being capable of operating a PC and virtually any software and device. The student [me] is, without doubt, one of the most valuable students to whom I teach. He has participated in programming school contests, as well as other contests, like Kangourou European Contest of Applied Mathematics in 2007 and the Siemens Join Multimedia design contest, in 2006.

As far as I can say, he is a very conscious student, one of his greatest qualities is the ability to associate and use new information, so that he finds it very easy to understand a bigger concept and get the essential picture. Moreover, I have noticed that [me] progressed since I had first met him, in the way that now he is more mature, more capable of making right decisions. He has now reached a high level of intelligence and awareness and I can fully state that he is ready to meet the intellectual requirements that are demanded by a college course.

[me] is a talented person, and very passionate when it comes to his ambitions. In a conversation we had a little time ago, I had learned that he is inclined toward computer designing, especially web sites. He had told me that he was studying diverse designing techniques and programming languages at home, so that one day he could be prepared for a job as a web designer.

However, despite the fact that [me] has focused on the field of technology and computers, he has a vast general knowledge and he is aware that by also studying other fields he could solve problems that are related to his choice field. He is a sociable person that accommodates in a group rather quickly, being able to handle teamwork efficiently. He knows when to listen and how, and he adapts his ideas to fit the project he is working on, therefore proving to be extremely flexible.

All things considered, I strongly believe that [me] is the right choice for the Multimedia Design and Communication courses within the [my choice] College. His redoubtable qualities and abilities, along with his great potential render [me] able to respond to elevated academic standards and even to outperform them, in order to pursue his career prospects. I am utterly convinced that this student could be a valuable addition to a prestigious academic center, such as your college.

Need advice for my motivation letter

Here is my motivation letter to apply for a student exchange program. I would really appreciate if somebody could have a look through it and give me some advice about the content of my letter. Iâm not sure if I have to give more details about my education and work experience? (--> Additional to this letter I will send in my academic records and my CV.)

I am writing to apply for the *** at *** University in Tokyo.

I am currently studying Business and Economics at the University of ***. My major will be financial markets and international economics. I expect to graduate with a Masters Degree after the next two terms in spring 2007.

I am applying to this program because I would like to improve my skills with regard to establishing relations between different cultures. During my internship at *** I gained an insight into the business of improving relations with and acquiring potential clients from Middle East. I learned how important it is to know about the tradition, customs and language of your business partners the gain their confidence. With regard to my major goal, to work for an international company which does business with Japan, I understand how extremely important it is to obtain an excellent understanding of your counterpart and I believe the best way to do so is to live with them. To get a somewhat closer to this dream and the intention to study for Japanese Proficiency Test, I started attending Japanese language classes in spring 2005.

Furthermore, I see the *** program, with its broadly diversified courses, as an opportunity to improve my social and cultural understanding, because it is not limited to economics subjects. It would give me the opportunity to enter the academic fields from a different viewpoint, which would broaden my knowledge.

Beside the academic reasons I mentioned above, I also have personal reasons for applying for the *** program. After I finished my Bachelor Degree I spent four months in Australia studying for the Cambridge Advanced Exam, which I passed. (This is the equivalent of a TOEIC score between 701 and 910, and a TOEFL score between 92 and 112.) During this time I was able to establish a great network with people from all over the world. I could also make some Japanese friends who invited me last autumn to visit them and showed me their country. The insight I gained during that period was such a tremendous experience that I definitely wish to deepen my knowledge of Japanese culture. Studying abroad for one year in Japan would offer me the possibility to live the everyday life in Japan and help me with this. Finally, I see the chance to improve my Japanese as the key to the understanding of this culture.

I do not underestimate going abroad for one year to a country with a completely different culture, but I definitely believe I am capable and I will do everything to ensure that I give it my upmost to contribute and gain the most I can.

According to reports from prior students and my Japanese friends, I know that *** University has an excellent reputation as one of the best private universities which provides international educational experience. The opportunity to participate in this student exchange program would provide enormous academic and personal benefits to me, and would help me to achieve my ultimate goal of obtaining employment in which I can do business with Japan.

Cover letter on English language proficiency

Hi,
In order to be accepted into the university I am applying to, I have send in English language proficiency proof. Preferably by IELTS or TOEFL results, but it is also possible to write a cover letter explaining why I think I shouldn't have to.......

Could you check this out and tell me if you think it's ok? I would appreciate it !!

As all non-native students must demonstrate their English proficiency in order to get accepted into (Xx) University, I kindly ask you to exempt me from sending in IELTS or TOEFL results, and treating this letter as proof that I am a fluent English speaker.

From my youngest years I have been brought up in an English speaking society.
Since the age of 5 I have attended an Australian primary public school in Sydney.
I have learnt English the natural way, but going to school and playing with other Australian kids. I believe young children learn languages the fastest, and I have been lucky enough to have the benefit of learning good English this way.

Later on I have lived in (Xx) where I have attended the International School of (Xx).
I have improved my English in all academic matters. I have learnt problem solving and critical thinking, English has become the language in which I learned to think in.
As a main language at high school level, it is also been the language in which i have done all my high school exams, that I have passed with good results.
I believe that, even tho my mother tongue is (Xx), I should be treated as a native English speaker.

I kindly ask you to look over this matter and exempt me from sending in other proof of language proficiency.

Am a new user ,it's My firts Day here !! I just found this website During my searching on the poem ( For whom The Bell Tolls) But I surpriced by this COOL Website !!! this website is exactly What I was looking for From so long Time!! and I Found lately ! , any way ,, I think it's so Useful website wanna CONGRATULATION you about it !

well People I think My English is Horrible,,so I will be Thankful if You could Help me to make some progress, and I think I've got lot of problems in grammer !

But There is some Thing in My mind ,That I want to make a TOEFL test in the next Summer but I can't do any thing with my HORRIBLE English ,, and I started From months ago to read books in English ,,and read on English grammers I collect some things on net so that making some progress !!!! But I still can't go on by this way I mean I Need to know what I need to have to be able to enter a TOFEL exam I need To know what TOEFL needs and I think I have the whole year infront of me before the next Summer ! I study in college but the study won't take any of my time ,, I have the whole Day ! So I just need to know what I need to do during this year to be able to get High Score in TOEFL TEST ,, SO PLEASE HELP ME OUT !!!!! I need Your Help
